It does what it does and it does it very well. What more can one ask for?

I've been using one for some weeks now and it's functioning as it's supposed to. I don't know if it's typical of the device or just the one I received, but only a very light touch will convince the arm to stay down in preparation for another play. Too much pressure or a jolt makes it pop up. So far a delicate touch is helping it work out fine.

Don't you hate it when a company asks for reviews over trivial purchases? I do.

This Q Up Automatic Tonearm Lifter works great on my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon. Now I can sit back and listen to the entire album without concentrating on the record to be prepared to jump up at the end of the side. Took a little time to get it adjusted properly but it works great.

I didn't expect much from the Q UP. Yeah, it will lift the tonearm when needed, I thought. Yeah, it will look shoddy and even smell funny. It will be your garden variety "you get what you paid for". But since the next up product by a different maker cost $210, I decided to get the Q Up. Audio Advisor delivered it in 3 short days. For free! I threw the small box with the manual away (how complex can it be?) Installed the device. It raised the tonearm too high, it jumped so much that it almost fell off the lever on the LP. I took the removable part, the main Q UP off the base and inspected it carefully. It had some buttons that I didnt see before at the fist glance. I went to the waste basket, for the discarded manual. I am not going to go over it, suffice to say the Q UP turned out to be versatile than I expected. Not only the height was adjusted, but also the sensitivity of the firing trigger, the lift force sensitivity, etc. After playing with all the option I successfully adjusted the Q UP to raise the tonearm with an appropriate speed, force and angle. This is much more than I would have expected from a $100 device, let alone a $50 one. It looks excellent once you install it. I had some reservations against its bulky black body, but it actually ads to the looks of the turntable, not subtracts. In summary, it is an excellent device. I would have liked it more if it wasn't so loud (a click) when the trigger fires and if it lifted the tonearm very slowly, like an autolifter in an expensive old turntable, but this is where you have to decide how important that is to shell out an additional $150-$800 for it. And it is really not that important. The Q UP does much more than you would expect and way, way much more than you pay for.

I needed a lifter that is narrow enough to fit my SME Model 20 turntable. This one is. The sticky stuff they use to keep it in place is useless and I had to use black tape of my own. But it does lift up the arm at the right place when the record ends. It doesn't do it slowly though. It sort of snaps it up and the arm bounces a few times but no damage. I think someone could make a much better one.

I've recently upgrading from my Thorens TD145 which is a semi automatic turntable. I've gotten spoiled by the tone arm lifting up at the end. I've gotten a new Pro-Ject turntable and am lost when it comes to the end of the record. I have to stay close to the turntable and make sure i pick the tone arm up. The Q UP is my guardian angel for making sure the tone arm lifts up at the end of the record. This $49 device is amazing. It is infinitely adjustable for many turntables and situations. It took about 10 min to install and adjust. THe included instructions and online videos are very self explanatory. The Q UP is also adjustable to gracefully lift up the tone arm at the end. I've seen several people complaining that the tone arm is violently thrown up in the air by the Q UP which was hardly the case i encountered. There are some much more expensive solutions but I think you will find the Q UP to be the one for you! Like always , a great purchase experience from Audio Advisor!
