“A good part. Good construction. GREAT grip on my PS Audio power cords. I detect a subtle yet obvious sonic enhancement. Worth fifty bucks - yeah I think so. I've paid more for upgrades yet gotten less.”
“This is my forth under $50 product by Pangea and each one has been fantastic. I own their SE power cords 3x, USB cable, and marvelous HDMI cable. Each one has been better than than last. This outlet is also top shelf for less than a third of the price of most audiophile outlets. The biggest sonic change is more shimmer and sparkle on the highs of my Rouge Audio/Parasound/Oppo/Bryston system.”
“After installing I heard an immediate and obvious sonic improvement. It wasnt subtle at all. The outlet yielded an noticeable reduction in background noise so the music emerges cleaner and clearer. I'm surprised some of the other reviewers here can't hear it. Its that obvious.”
“The outlet is very well made with high quality parts but after installation I could detect no change in the sound. I'm keeping it because it provides a very secure connection so it gets four stars.”
“I didn't expect a lot when I ordered this outlet. Since I use Pangea power cables I thought it would match well. Now I can say WOW this outlet made a noticeable difference in my system. I noticed a broader soundstange with more refined instrument placement and deeper and more clearly defined bass. The build quality is beyond hospital grade and my heavy AC-9 cables don't sag. A $50 upgrade easily worth $250.”
“This is my second Pangea purchase. I use a Pangea AC9SE MkII with Cardas Copper between my Bryston BIT power conditioner and the wall outlet. IF you haven't seen one, this is one big beefy cable. ITs very heavy. I decided to replace the flimsy wall outlet with the Premier SE. Right out of the box I noticed the thing must weigh three times what the ordinary outlet weighs. All the internal parts are high grade. Internal prongs are beefy. AFter installing my AC9SE power cord fit like the two were made for each other. I guess they were. Just like others who reviewed this outlet I hear sonic improvements. The inner detail on Jazz ensembles is more in focus. Cymbal strikes have a longer decay. Bass is taught and snappy. This outlet rocks”
“This outlet must weigh five times what a regular outlet does. It has thick metal prongs and a very robust mounting bracket. Looks great when mounted, too.”
“Last year I tried one of the Pangea AC-14 power cords on my vintage tube preamp. I was so shocked by the improvement I wound up upgrading the power cables in my entire system with the Pangea. By the way, the heavy duty AC-9 sounds even better on my DAC than the AC-14. This month I decided to upgrade my power outlets. I needed two. One by the main system and another by my mono amps. At $49 a pop the Premier SE outlets fit my budget. I liked the construction right out of the box, but the sonic enhancement was a bonus. I hear more layers in the soundstage. Images seem somehow taller. Jazz bands are definitely more three dimensional. The old classic, Jazz At The Pawn Shop, sounds unreal. Pretty cool.”
