“I used these interconnects to connect a MoFi Ultradeck turntable to a Pro-Ject Phono Box RS phono stage. That was not a good idea. Background noise was unbelievably high. I put the turntable on a Morley hum eliminator and it made no difference. The only thing I could do to get rid of that loud hum was go back to the RCA interconnects I already had, which were also shielded. Simply swapping the interconnects between the turntable and phono stage made all the difference. These cables may be just the thing for other implementations, but I would definitely not use them to connect a turntable to a phono preamplifier.”
Thanks for your comments. Its rare to have this problem, but it does occur. The problem is not the cable shielding - this cable is triple shielded - its a grounding issue.

“I have been using this between my variable output DAC and tube monoblocks for a few weeks now. The cable I had been using long term was one of those 'magnet wire' interconnects that had been the occult source of a constant background hum that I could not figure out where it was coming from. I even spent a couple grand getting a dedicated 10ga 20A line with triple ground rods to no avail.
Anyway, I had the opportunity to borrow a set of very expensive Danish made interconnects for a few weeks, that finally gave me hum free performance-after barely tolerating it for longer than I care to admit. The sonic improvement of this Danish cable also went beyond merely eliminating that pesky background buzz, so when it came time to return the pricy EuroCables and replacing the unshielded magnet wire ( I don't know why this was not the obvious culprit) I got some Pangea IC to try out as they obviously are well shielded, and I already use 4 of their PC and one USB cable.
What I DID expect was the Pangea to also be hum-free...which it is.
What I DIDN'T expect was for me to sonically prefer it to the EuroCable. It obviously has more gravitas and pitch accuracy at the low end and very pure clear treble performance. Soundstaging also seemed to be improved.
Seeing the Pangea cost around ten percent or less of the other cable I would say it is worthy to be used in some pretty exotic environments.
Any chance of a Pangea XL speaker cable? BTW I was also using some borrowed $20,000 speaker cable from the same Danish source when I made these comparisons.”
