“Definitely a huge step up from the $8 cable I was using between my preamp and power amp. Eliminated some harshness while producing much better high and low extension.”
“I have a 1990s-era McIntosh MCD 7007 CD player attached to a McIntosh MX 130 home theater preamp using Nordost Heimdall II interconnects, which are considerably more costly than these Pangeas. My problem has been harshness and glaring sound. I figured I would try a 'less good' set of interconnects to try and tone down the harshness and make it a bit more dull. What I found was that with these Pangeas in place, the sound is not only much less digital sounding (harsh) but the level of detail retrieval, subtlety, and finesse has gone up dramatically. There is also a black background during silent passages which is more noticeable. I am surprised. Be aware that these cables are marked for the direction of flow, meaning that an arrow will be seen on the downstream plug. Be sure to connect them that way. As I found out, they don't sound nearly as good hooked up in reverse. Now, I am wondering whether to try a pair of the SE version.”
“I use this cable on all my computer audio setups. It is great and a good deal. I am very happy with it's performance. I have bought a lot of more expensive cables in the past but this one seem just as good.”
“I replaced a twisted pair and tried a star quad interconnect - no comparison. These have more detail and realism than the others. It may get better at higher prices, but these are great.”
“Had opportunity to compare audio performance with a pair of lower tier cables the I had to use temporarily. The profound improvement in sound quality was apparent.”
