“After hooking it up what I heard was no fuzz or static the dipole antenna had with weak stations very surprised. But I lost some signal stations but the stations I could get were coming In crystal clear, with the dipole I got more stations but not very well. I decided to try something out why not connect both antennas to the adaptor supplied. My dipole antenna was an old Radio Shack antenna with spades to fit the adaptor. Glad I did It was like adding a turbo charger to the dipole antenna. I tacked up the dipole to the wall and positioned the Magnum Dynalab antenna on a shelf. Absolutely much much better I got better signal totally happy. My tuner Magnum Dynalab FT-11 upgraded By Magnum Dynalab.”

I can see the TX about 3 miles away. A straight shot out my window.
I tried this with my Fanfare FT-1A with the supplied 300-75 Ohm balun, plugged straight in to the tuner. Compared to no antenna, it created a clearer, louder signal when adjusted, but it was still noisy and struggled to keep the stereo signal (we use an omni transmitter antenna).
Visually more elegant than a cheap foldable dipole, but the results were not as good in my situation.
