“Don't know why I thought these would be made of metal but it's all plastic and rubber. Regardless, it supports my smallish 8" subwoofer but not with good rigidity on carpet. Still, it meets my need for its intended purpose which was to get the sub off the floor. I wouldn't recommend it for a critical use.”
“I bought this stand to get the subwoofer off the floor and out of the carpeting. It seems to be quite sturdy and has no problem handling the weight.
As for any sonic improvement, it would be a judgement call whether any perceived changes were due to incremental isolation or to the elevation off the floor.”
“I ordered a pair of these for my two subs. placing these beneath my subwoofers made an improvement in sound that is, at first impression, subtle. But I A - B'd them by removing and replacing them (twice to be sure I wasn't experiencing Audiophile Deceptica) and am sure the improvement is more dramatic than I first thought. I then placed sets of Vibrapod discs between the sub and the stands and experienced even greater improvement. They seem to have some sort of suction thing going with the stand AND the subwoofer when placed correctly; (Is there anything a Vibrapod disc can't improve? I try to keep four or five on hand.) These stands along with the Vibrapods took a humble pair of Martin Logan subs to a much higher level and are considered by me to be an indispensable combination, although I'm about to move onto a set of vibration footers, made by Isoacoustics themselves,, to combine with the Isoacoustics stand, that may be even more of an improvement. Still, the Isoacoustics/ Vibrapodpod combination is a winner.”
