“We made a booking for this hotel with parking for 10 days commencing 28th September. On 27th September at almost midnight our holiday was cancelled due to hurricane Ian. We rang first thing the following morning and asked if we would be able to move our booking to a new date when the holiday had been rearranged by Virgin and were told it would be requested. On 29th September we were told our holiday had been rearranged for Sunday 2nd October, meaning our hotel would be required for Saturday 1st October and the parking would commence then. When we rang to ask to change our dates to these we were told we were a “no show” and had therefore lost our booking and our money (£119) as we hadn’t gave 48 hours notice. We didn’t know 48 hours prior that our holiday was going to be cancelled/rearranged. APH asked Best Western Cresta to rearrange as a goodwill gesture and they refused. We understood there may be a higher cost for staying in the hotel on a Saturday night rather than a Wednesday night and would have happily paid the difference but were just told we had lost the booking. This is unacceptable, the circumstances were beyond our control and the hotel and parking received money for services they did not provide.”
“This hotel is really well situated for APH Manchester and staff friendly with good customer service and is only a short walk into Altrincham where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. There is however a noise problem should you be allocated a room at the front of the hotel as the road in front is busy at all hours. Closing the windows will alleviate the noise but not stop it. We stopped previously with no problems but got little sleep this time. Request a quiet room at the back.”
“Welcoming staff only problem was the heat and only found out fans were available in the morning when checking out as asked if we had one in our room.”
