“On leaving home, we carefully checked the drop-off instructions provided with the booking confirmation, which read as follows: "To avoid additional short stay car park charges, please call 07857 xxxxxx or 07594 xxxxxx at least 30 minutes prior to reaching the airport ...".
We live approximately 75 minutes drive from Heathrow, so my husband rang one of these numbers soon after we left home (i.e. about an hour before we would reach the airport) to confirm our expected arrival time. When we arrived at the airport, no one was there to meet us, so we waited for about 10 minutes before calling the number again. We were then told that we should have called again 20 minutes before our arrival and that we would now have to wait another 10-15 minutes for someone to come to meet us. I tried to point out that the arrival instructions say nothing about the need for a second call, but the person I spoke to was very aggressive and refused to listen. When someone did finally arrive to collect the car, we were told we would have to pay the short stay parking fee for the time we had waited (£11) before they could drive the car away. Obviously we had no choice, as we had a plane to catch.
On return, things went according to plan, but that's because the leaflet we were given DID clearly state that two calls were needed - one on landing and an other after we had collected our luggage.
Regardless of the slightly lower cost, we won't be using this firm again.”
