“The location is easy to find and the directions provided are good. The reception area is clearly marked and easy to find. The staff are quick and the check-in process was very quick and smooth, and a card is given to show when collecting the car. The walk to the terminal only takes a couple of minutes.
The process of collecting the keys was quick and the car was ready and conveniently parked, especially as I arrived close to midnight.
When getting into the car I noted that the dash-cam was not affixed to the windscreen, but was dangling by its power wire and swinging about above the passenger side of the console. Assuming that the unit had just fallen off, it was the work of a couple of minutes to re-attach it to the windscreen and hide the wires.
Driving off, the tyre pressure warning light came on – I filled them a couple of weeks ago, so was surprised to see an alert so quickly, so I continued to the nearest open garage. Here I discovered that the front passenger tyre had a large split in the sidewall, and when it was fully re-inflated, I could hear air escaping, I managed to get home after filling this up.
Not to worry – I’ll review the dash-cam footage and see what happened.
I’m going to have to write to the dash-cam manufacturer because it somehow failed to record anything on the day after I dropped the car off, and in the footage from the next day, the dash-cam can be seen dangling from above the passenger seat. It’s still swinging around on it’s return journey to the airport for collection.
To close off my parking experience, I've also booked in a trip to Kwik-fit this Friday to get a new tyre. Thankfully, the manufacturer mandates that these should be done in pairs, so that’s a relief, as i was worried that I'd only need to buy one.”
