“Interestingly this review asks about the Transfer TO the Aiport, but not FROM airport to the Car Park.
Let's start at the beginning. Check-In was weird.
Starting with entry. Told me to go to lane that was marked, but it was full. Still, did as asked and parked behind. But, no one was monitoring the lanes, even when I left on bus approx 15 minutes later, signage still pointed cars to the overfull lane.
Automated terminals but to use them you have a member of staff walk you through it, and other staff just standing around. So, why the automated terminals? I entered and greeted them with a good morning, got zero response and just staff member pointed me to terminal and went through it in quite a blunt mundane manner. Though I get it, they probably do this hundreds of times a day.
Bus driver was lovely, friendly and chatty. Best part of the drop-off experience.
But, overall acceptable. It is "just" a car park after all.
The return...
Approx midnight. Arrive at bus bay to find a tailing queue back. Buses every 20 minutes apparently. Was easily in that queue for 30 minutes, and I was some 50-60 ppl back, who must have been there longer. In true bus fashion. 2 buses turned up couple of minutes apart. 3rd bus was just coming into bus station as we left too. First bus started loading. Some people in queue moved over to queue for other bus instead. Decided to continue for the 1st bus, reached it and told it was full. But driver did not communicate this at all to the queue. So then split queues and people getting turned away from one bus and having to find their way into the other queue. There needed to be better management of this, no one was around and no one answered the phone when people tried to call to find out where the buses were. On returning to the car park, appears that the only people working that night were the bus drivers. No support for people struggling to get their keys, etc.
The bus driver explained that a road closure on route from car park to airport was what caused the delays and bunching up of buses. But that doesn't make sense. If all 3 buses are following the same diversion, and running 20 minutes behind each other, then they would all stay roughly the same distance apart. Right? Given the length of the queue, I would be confident in saying that not all of them would have made it onto the 3rd bus. Meaning people were likely then going to be waiting even longer (estimate 45mins extra at least). Again, with no one on hand to explain the situation and no one reachable by the contact number given to us.
At any time of day, when you expect a bus to be arriving every 20 minutes, and you wait double that, with no communication, it is unacceptable. But, after returning in the middle of the night, after a long day of travelling already, the issue is exacerbated. 1 person being around to apologise for the delay, would have kept people much much happier.
I think next time, I'll pay the extra and park at the airport.”
“Great service. Drop off was seamless. Pick up was a little confusing but also quite simple once I found the car. Instructions were a little speedy so needed to pay attention but was relatively intuitive. Lucky as no staff to be see really. Was also lucky that transfer was fairly quick.”
“This company was superb from the moment we dropped our car off to the moment we picked it up again. The key pick up was easy to use and the staff were polite, very helpful and proffesionall.”
