“It was not clear to me when I made the booking that the zone requires a transfer to the airport. The shuttle service runs once every 15 mins so you need to factor this in to the overall journey time.
When I returned to collect the key (you have to leave your car key so that your car can be moved) there was no-one on the desk to do the return. It was not a massive wait but having had to wait for the shuttle and then for the key collection it all adds up.
It was not noticeably cheaper than the normal car-park and so I would not recommend.”
“As a regular user, we found the service not as efficient as usual. Check-in was fine, but on the return trip there appeared to be a shortage of buses, ie long waits and a shortage of staff at the key collection point. We will use Silver Parking again, and hope that service will be back to normal standards in the future.”
“My wife has a walking disability, therefore, I found the bus transfer difficult to manage. My wife needed help at the airport but I had to help her on the bus and move two suitcases and hand luggage, the bus was very crowded & difficult to manoeuvre suitcases. I am coming up to retirement age.
We had no problem finding disability parking space & getting in & out of the silver zone was easy. I would recommend silver-zone to people who are reasonably fit.
I will consider parking at the airport next time.”
“A pretty quick and efficient way to park. The process to check in was ok, a bit slow as was only self check in which some people get confused with if they are not used to this system which causes queues. The return process was extremely efficient with three people dealing withthe queue for return tickets and issuing keys back - they were very good.
One issue was on return. the barrier out asked for a ticket to be inserted. No ticket is provided, only your car key on return so I had to press buzzer on the barrier and get a person to answer and lift the barrier. Caused long queues on exiting so needs addressing.
One area for improvment also is to ensure enough buses are at the airport to collect people, we were crammed on most uncomfortably - far too many on the bus to be safe. so more buses please more often.”
