“We rarely write reviews but our experience on this occasion warrants one.
Firstly the car park is hard to find and Sat Nav won’t take you there.
When we arrived we were given a yellow ticket and told to follow a bus that was moving around the car park and ask the driver where to park. When we could eventually speak to him he had no idea why the reception staff had said that and told to “just park over there”. When we got on the bus he advised we were now in a blue zone and had to hand write that on the ticket to avoid confusion on our return.
When we parked up it was dark but we noticed the cars around looked dusty. When we returned 2 weeks later our car had changed colour from black to mud grey. In short much of car park is on what looks like crush and run that’s used as a sub surface for roads so when it’s wet it’s like mud and when it’s dry creates a lot of dust. It’s also very difficult to wheel bags on it this surface without causing damage.
We had to wash all the windows down as it was so bad you couldn’t see out of any of them.
I mentioned this to the staff on exit who were uninterested and just said “complain to the company”. I certainly didn’t expect to have to fully clean the car after leaving it in a car park run by a supposedly reputable company.
My confidence on APH is damaged and I’d think twice about using them again. I’d only use this car park again as a last resort.”
“On the whole, it does what it says on the tin… it’s a short run.
However be aware that on the return to the car park you may not be taken back to your car and left at any bus stop (apparently the driver is very busy ) And another thing to bear in mind your car may be filthy as it is parked on a dirt/dust/gravelly car park.
But it’s cost effective and have regular bus pick ups in both directions.
It’s easy to find and easy to book.”
“Surprised asked to write a review considering still in Italy when we should have already returned. Thanks to the bus driver waving us into a space and then leaving whilst parked the car the next bus did not arrive for another 15 minutes and then took best part of an hour to get us to the terminal, subsequently flights/hotel changes had to be rescheduled costing £1400 in addition to paying NCP (who I would recommend instead as use own carpark unlike APH who use airparks). Customer support is also lacking as APH hide behind the other supplier Holiday Extras and quote retms and conditions the moment anything goes wrong! Still awaiting a reply from my complaint email but honestly would say if you want a stress free transfer pay that little extra and avoid APH!”
“I feel that the confirmation email was not clear for directions to the short run parking and we were given a ticket however was not informed we needed to show staff on our return. The car park could have better signage or maybe the parking allocation on the tickets”
“Quick bus service and transfer was no problem at all. However the car park was dreadful! We had to park on gravel and then drag our cases over this! It was very difficult with two small children and heavy cases. It has made such a mess of our cases and ruined a couple of wheels.”
