At this point, the unit will also rotate the compartment so that the medication can be accessed. When the user tips the unit to retrieve the medication the alarm and flashing light will cancel.Safety FeaturesUser can only access 1 dose of medicine at a time, prevents double dosing Low battery alertAlarm + flashing light sounds for 30 minutes unless user takes medicationLoud volume alarm (83dB)The safety features of the device make it a very popular automatic pill dispenser for Alzheimer's patients, or as a dementia pill dispenser.Refillable at your local pharmacyTo help with the refilling of medication at a pharmacy, the Automatic Pill Dispenser comes with a medication label and retaining case. The ability to refill the dispenser at pharmacies is another feature that makes this device a useful pill dispenser for dementia patients. We recommend adding a Spare Tray to your order if you intend to refill the dispenser at a pharmacy, as this allows you to rotate the trays so the user always has access to their pill dispenser. This can be done by ticking the box located next to the product image: "Spare Tray for Automatic Pill Dispenser".What pharmacies offer this service? Many pharmacies will fill the dispenser upon request. However advanced warning or information about the dispenser may be required, simply take a copy of the Automatic Pill Dispensers instruction manual to a pharmacy and ask whether they offer this service.Cycle ExamplesOnce a day medication - Refill every 28 daysTwice a day medication - Refill every 14 daysThree times a day medication - Refill every 9 daysFour times a day medication - Refill every 7 daysContentsAutomatic Pill Dispenser with lock and key4 x AA batteriesInstructionsSelection of cycle dispenser sheets (see above)

I love the fact we can load up 2 weeks of tablets (medication taken twice a day) and there is no opportunity for the pills to be tampered with. I was worried that by tipping out the pills some could move to an adjoining compartment as the pills are very small, but so far, all have remained where they should be. It is taking time for mother to get used to get used to the dispenser, but hopefully it will soon be mastered.

My mother needs medication once a day but had been forgetting she had taken them and then took more than she should. The electronic pill dispenser has been great and is working for her very well. Very pleased.

Perfect pill dispenser for Mum and we now know if and when she's taken the right tablets. Very useful and the 28 pockets mean we only have to fill monthly!

Only problem is that my Mum with Alzheimers, is able to get into the machine opening it with a kitchen knife.

We're sorry to hear that our customer's Mum can access the dispenser. Unfortunately there are very few products that can prevent someone from accessing them if they are very determined. Some of our customers have had more success using the "Clear Lid" version of this dispenser to reduce this behaviour, as the user can see inside and may be less inclined to attempt to open it. Kind regards, the AlzProducts team

My 98 year old Mum still lives in her own home and recently I have been worried that she was forgetting to take her tablets. This product is brilliant, so easy to set up and use. Very impressed and would recommend.
