I knew there must be a simple remote control for someone with dementia and found one straight away on the internet. I have already other friends to use this site. Thank you.

I brought this 'simple' remote for my Mum who's 81 and was really struggling with the normal TV remote, its funny but the remote is never seen until after you buy a TV yet its the greatest and most frequently used tool for Human computer interaction that there is but you do not know what you will get until you open the box! The ALZ remote was simple to set up, by me and Mum has now used it for just 4 days but tells me its great. The need to scroll through each channel rather than use the EPG service is a small loss to the ease at which she uses the remote now so I doubt I will get any more calls saying the TV's not working.

My mother was continuously getting in a muddle with the TV remote as her dementa progressed, to the point where she forgot how to use it and even when set up so it just needed a one button press, the wrong buttons would be pressed and all hell would break loose. This simple on/off + high/low volume + channel change remote has meant she can now use her TV again. So far so good anyway.

A brilliant product which has enabled my mother to operate the TV independently. A little tricky to program however the extra instructions provided do work.

My Mum who is 91 with poor eyesight and co-ordination is absolutely thrilled that she can now change channels, adjust volume and turn on and off with just one remote that has large buttons, instead of the two remotes she had which both had small buttons and was very confusing. This is a God send. Thank you.

Ordered this for relative who lives on their own. This has been a good help although it would be useful to have one that had the buttons lablled as BBC1, BBC2 and so on.

As other reviewers have said, just spend a few minutes reading and fully understanding the few set-up instructions. Having done that, it was very quick and easy to tune to the existing remote and everything was up and working perfectly within 5 minutes. I don't know if I was lucky but I then found that it operated both TVs in the house. The person it was for, a 93 year old, grasped the use of it straight away and has had no problems since, whereas she simply couldn't see or understand the remote that came with the TV. Excellent product - thoroughly recommended.

This simplicity of this control has put an end to the constant calls from my mother saying she has lost her TV programmes. As even us more able younger generation also get tired of navigating the numerous buttons, and the need for two separate controls, we all want one also! Although my mum has been diagnosed with late-onset Alzheimers, I was looking everywhere for a control like this and conicidentally found it on the Alzheimer's web site although it can be purchased elsewhere.
