“I wish it had the option of being battery operated as the power lead is very short.”

Unfortunately, this clock design generally uses mains power as the screens are too powerful for standard replaceable batteries. We're sorry that this isn't ideal for our customer. Our battery-operated clocks are not backlit and will not be visible in the dark. We have measured the power cable length for this clock to ensure the product page has the correct information, the leads supplied are 1.8m. “The clock in itself is a great idea and seems to work well so far but the fact it says ‘dementia’ all over the box and literature is really insensitive.. We had to remove it from the box to give it to my dad!”

We're sorry to hear that the customer is unhappy with the retail packaging. We've spoken to the manufacturer who have advised that they currently have no plans to change the packaging. We appreciate that the word "dementia" may not be welcome on the retail packaging so we've added a warning to the product page to let our website visitors know before they place their order. “Exactly what we needed for my Mum that sometimes gets confused about whether it is daytime or evening. We have it permanently on the display that just says for example "now it's Thursday morning". Unlike other models you can set the hour when the morning, afternoon, evening and night changes, so this was useful to fit around my Mums schedule. It dims at night, I would have prefered this to be an option to turn off, but it does it when it gets to the night time, so you can adjust that time if neccesary. Easy to see. No issues with ordering or delivery.”

We're sorry to hear our customer was disappointed that the clock doesn't adjust the time automatically. We do try to make this clear on the product page under the specifications table. We do sell other clocks that do adjust automatically twice a year for daylight savings and we have contacted our customer to let them know. We advise all of our customers, that if a product they have purchased is not suitable for their needs then we do offer a hassle free 30 day returns policy, which our customer service team are happy to arrange.

“Good for my Mum, who can't keep track of days of the week. Disappointing that it doesn't stand alone - there's a hole to allow you to put it on a wall, or you have to prop it up somewhere.”
