We're a company based in Ipswich, England and located in the eastern region of Suffolk. Located approximately 100 kilometres east of London, Ipswich benefits from good and frequent train/rail connections with the capital and the neighbouring sea port of Felixstowe.

Profoil now has customers in over 60 countries worldwide.

Profoil first started business in 1989 to supply consumables and machines to the foiling and embossing industries. The first products sold were die fixing toggles and machine spare parts, but have since added hot stamping foil rolls, foiling and embossing dies, make-ready materials and many other consumables – in fact, everything needed for the foiling and embossing professional. Profoil's relationship to the Blockfoil Group aids the reassurances it can provide to customers on the quality of the product range – “there is no better experience to gain than using the products you sell” (Sales & Marketing Manager of Profoil).

Now Profoil manufactures most of the products sold by using the in-house team of expert design engineers. All manufactured products use the highest quality steel available.

Profoil started the online shop in the Autumn of 2009 and over the months it has continued to improve the range of products sold. With a defined strategy based upon quality and service, Profoil listens to its customers feedback and strives to always improve overall service – including the processes to order and functionality of the online shop. Such improvements are always on-going.

Poor quality of foils - i used it to laminating my artwork but it left a nasty residue all over the artwork rendering it completely useless. I can't use these anymore. Waste of money. Definitely don't recommend.

Hello Mr Basu I am sorry you are having a problem with the foil. Can you tell me the machine you are using them on? Also can you tell me what heat and speed settings you are using? For perfect results you will need to adjust the settings to suit the design, the paper thickness and the toner. The foils rely on the toner remelting and becoming sticky. If your temperature and speed settings are such that the toner does not melt then nothing will transfer. If the heat is too high then you can find that the image (Toner) will start to be removed from the sheet and transferred back to the foil carrier. In extreme cases where the temperature is much too high you will see background toning from the foil as its sticking to the moisture generated by the paper over heating. From the pictures you have sent I can see an imperfect coverage on the toner and some background toning. You will need to adjust the temperature and speed to make the coverage on the image better. I can also see an area of card running along the top that is clean of any unwanted foil yet there is an area of correct image within it that has been foiled correctly, suggesting that the foil is only transferring to toner and not to virgin card. See where I have marked “1” on the picture below. I have marked an area “2” where you can see a pattern of similar artwork to that which you are trying to foil within some background toning. This is suggesting you might have an issue with your printer clearing the toner from the OPC belt and leaving a residue, which is repeating a previous print pattern within it. It is obvious that as this pattern is stray toner the foil will stick to it when its remelted. I know that our foils are of the highest quality and that your issue is a combination of toner print quality and setting of the temperature and speed on the foiling machine. If you are using a laminator to apply the foil then you may not have the flexibility of adjustment to get a quality finish. Please come back to me with your findings. With kind regards, Richard
Absolutely abysmal experience Absolutely abysmal experience after returning the product. I was deducted 92% (you read correctly,ninety two percent !!!) from the original price, and they refused to correct it, justifying this daylight robbery with administrative mumbo jumbo like in Yes Minister show. Definitely dishonest merchant practice. Avoid at all costs. I will have to fight them now with Pay Pal. The merchant didn`t even bother to refund me after receiving a return, I had to specifically ask for it, they probably hoped I wouldn`t even ask. Update: I was finally refunded today by force, via Paypal. Some good news.

Dear Mark Thank you for your lovely review. We have decided to leave your review present on our website. You've asked us to "try to put yourself in my shoes" and yet you haven't considered your own actions. I have tried to outline to you and PayPal the reason why we proceeded with deducting fees from your refund but regrettably, the incompetent understanding of PayPal staff has failed another of its merchants. The time required to proceed further with PayPal is now not worth the effort. You may relish in your success. I summarise below the position our business is in, since YOU placed an order with Profoil which we efficiently and swiftly sent to you, however you decided you didn't want it during international transit once the goods arrived at Customs in Croatia. Order total : £42.60 Outbound shipping charge (normal) : (£23.78) Outbound customs admin fees charged to Profoil as result of you refusing entry of goods : (£10) Return Customers charge to Profoil as result of you refusing entry of goods : (£10) Return shipping charge to Profoil, UK as result of you refusing entry of goods : (£23.78) NET ORDER STATUS : (LOSS £24.96) You commented that you often refuse parcels at customs for orders which are sent in error and a full refund is "a standard procedure"; however, there is no error in this order, or the goods, you just didn't want the order you placed. For the sake of our business and the small business community here in the UK, whom are trying hard to work competently with its international customer base, please do not place orders for items that you do not want.
When we received our order the Fedex package was empty. We never received what we paid for. Package had been tampered with.

This is clearly a failure on behalf of either US customs control or the Fedex courier network. I have replaced your goods free of charge, delivered immediately since you brought this to our intention. I also know you have received the replacements which have been signed for successfully.
