“Top soil with too many stones definitely not screen to 10mm.”

“Sales, marketing, delivery and video all good but product quality variable - shame. Around 10-20% of rolls are lightweight because the soil is cut too thin (wedge shape) on last foot of inner winding. The turf should have consistent soil depth along full length of strip - not a tatty crumbled tail section which impedes grass quality & lowers lawn height, this spoils your product/reputation. Hi Stuart, Thank you for your review - Im sorry that you were / are left disappointment - is there anyway you could send over any images to info@georgedaviesturf.co.uk? In addition, we have an incredible team of lifters but due to the nature of turf being a natural product and the conditions of mother nature we cannot always control the soil condition when its lifted, this does sometimes result in a thinner soil but in no way effects the quality of the lawn sword. “Order process great, very friendly and helpful staff. Disappointing didn’t receive contact the day before to confirm delivery slot and not able to tell me when I phoned. However driver very helpful when arrived and delivered to driveway. Not totally happy with quality of turf but probably me being fussy.”

“After the sales pitch we decide to purchase the turf from George Davies , the turf was good and after a lot of care it has took well . At the time of purchasing the turf we were told that after 10 weeks it being put down to give them a call and they would supply us with some fertiliser and send it to us , unfortunately they don’t you have to go and get it !!! Unfortunately they are not just round the corner, Can’t get from anywhere else but disappointed really”

Thank you so much for your feedback, you’re right we do prefer our customers to collect fertiliser as posting it sometimes leads to it going missing, but that should have been explained to you over the phone and still been an option open to you should you have wished to have it sent. We have fed this back to our team here so that we can be better going forwards, if you don’t say anything we cant fix it and that’s why we are really grateful for reviews like this, we are really happy you like your turf and it has taken well. As a thank you we have sent you a bag of fertiliser FOC in the post, if you have not received it in a week contact the office. Team GDT

“we ordered two tonne bags of premium topsoil. Delivery was swift and professional. The soil drys out very quickly and does not retain moisture adequately. Also had a large covering of weeds soon after laying it, mainly borage which we never had before in that location.”

Thank you so much for your feedback. Our Topsoil is around 85% silica and is BS 3882:2015 certified, this means it is the perfect free draining mixture to go underneath turf to help with establishment and to give you healthy lawn going forwards. We are sorry that you have found some weeds in there with the topsoil, however this is a good indicator of the soils fertility and borage can either treated with a spot weed killer or mechanically removed. If you are using the topsoil in a bed area with plants then we would suggest either adding some organic matter in the form of compost or putting a mulching layer of bark over the area to increase moisture retention - TEAM GDT
