“Solid Eb/D Trumpet, especially for the price. As someone who is just starting on Eb/D, I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on a horn, but so far I have been very pleased with the Wessex.”

“The tuba arrived a week after the order was placed. The valves are a little stiff when the case was opened, and all but first valve came back to full motion in a matter of minutes. I will need to work on that one more to get full motion. The tone and ease of playing right out of the case were great. Looking forward to using the full range once the valve issue is fixed.”

“The craftmanship on the finish of my new double horn is outstanding. However, I am having a lot of trouble getting the horn to play up to pitch on concert F using Trigger (3rd space C). It is around 40 cents flat with the main tuning slide all the way in. When trying to lip it up...it is on the very top of the partial and makes it very difficult to get a good sound. I even tried the Wessex stock mouthpiece and it made no difference. The tone is excellent....but the intonation tendencies are problematic. I am hoping a solution comes soon because I do not want to return the horn.”

“Recently I visited the showroom in Andover to try out their professional bass trombone (PBF565 P). The staff were friendly and helpful and I was quickly able to establish, after just a few minutes of blowing the instrument, that it was just what I was looking for. As a tenor trombone player playing music that occasionally requires a bass trombone (e.g. in musicals), I was reluctant to spend several thousand pounds on an instrument that I would only occasionally need. This instrument, however, is at a much more affordable price so I could more easily justify to myself purchasing it. The trombone seems well put together, the partials are well in tune, it produces a rich tone and is supplied with 3 lead pipes, a mouthpiece and a case with wheels (very handy). Whilst I am unable to compare it with much more expensive professional bass trombones made by Edwards, Bach etc (not being a proper bass trombone player!) it certainly satisfies my own musical and budgetary requirements and I am very pleased with my purchase.”

“Just getting going with the horn. My community band director says it sounds great. Two comments. I think you should post a video on your website about caring for rotary valves. I have never used a rotary valve horn and had to email for care instructions. You should consider posting a video showing just what needs to be done. Also, when you sell a horn it comes with a mouthpiece. I found the included mouthpiece to be too large and deep, and very hard to play. I wish you had asked me about what I would prefer in a mouthpiece when I placed the order. I might have gotten a mouthpiece I could use. Thanks. Joe.”

“I have purchased 3 Wessex TBB-330 Junior Tubas for elementary school bands in our area during the last 12 months. This is a fantastic tuba in every way for a young player. In addition to getting a great tuba, the service from Wessex has been marvelous. Laura has personally assisted me with all 3 purchases keeping me informed about availability and when to expect delivery. This latest delivery was in London on Monday, paid for on Tuesday and at my house in Cookeville, TN on Friday. Great horn, great price, great service..... Glen B., Cookeville, TN”
