“The whole experience was out standing. The Galileo is a great boat to sail on with the whole crew friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, the places we visited were unforgettable & the other guests were great. A must do holiday.”

“After having traveled around the world with my wife over the past 30 years, we never expected to have our cruise aboard the Callisto this past May, 2018 be the trip of our lifetimes. From the captain on down through the rest of the crew, we found everyone to be of the highest caliber professionally, and accommodating to the extreme. “We went to the Seychelles on the M/Y PEGASUS. From the moment we got on board the ship we were made to feel like part of a family. The ship was spotless and the cabin was far above what we expected everything in the cabin was clean and with plenty of room for our clothes. We had clean towels every day and our beds were turn down for us every night. The crew were friendly all the time but remained professional at all times, the service on board was second to none and the food was 5 star. The excursion that were provided were perfect for everyone. Everyone got on well together so it made things very comfortable. The Hotel Director ( Markos Vasileiadis ) arranged some great evening entertainment for us which was great. I would have no problem using Variety Cruises again”

“Peloponnesian Peninsula Cruise on Harmoney V . 15-22 April 2016. Although initially booked on a different ship, we were delighted to find that the Harmony V was as good as the pictures had indicated. Our accommodation was adequate and spotless clean and tidied everyday. The staff onboard were excellent, obliging, extremely polite and professional. The excursions were optional on our cruise which suited us as we like to explore on our own. The food was first class, with a variety of silver service and buffet sylte meals. As a veggie I was delighted with the wide variety of salads and options available. My husband thought the variety of courses, fish, meal, poultry were all very good and deliciously prepare. We hope to book this cruise line again next year and explore more of the wonderful Greek Islands and their facinating history and culture. We made friends with some of fellow passengers and have exchanged photos and email addresses. This was definitely a highlight holiday in every sense of the word.”

“Almost perfect week on Galileo ! Only 26 pax, and a great service. The team is absolutely perfect and the trip is very interesting. Special thanks to Iossif, our cruise manager, and Anna, our waitress, always perfect. The swim stops are not useful during spring but are chosen in so lovely places. Captain Andreas was ever so nice and we all knew we were in great hands. The crew was amazing and each day was planned with great excursions, which we did quite a few of them. “My wife and I sailed on the Harmony V from August 14th-21st on the classical Greek cruise. Over all the cruise was a very good experience that we would not hesitate to do again. While the ship may not have been brand new, it offered almost everything we needed to enjoy our time on the ship. The food was very good, the employees were very attentive and the cabins were comfortable. Our cruise director Josef was outstanding in his knowledge of history which he presented in a manner that made it very interesting. He was friendly and engaging with the passengers and available at any time. The islands we visited were outstanding along with the tours that were available, three of which we took part in. My only concerns were the lack of equipment available for enjoying the water. From reading the brochures and information on line, we got the impression the water activities were a big part of the cruise and looked forward to that. My other concern was that the Captain was not very friendly with the passengers. As a former airline captain, interaction with the passengers was very important to me and I found this lacking. Otherwise, a wonderful vacation that I would recommend to anyone. Kirk Thorvaldsen”

“Panama, the Panama Canal and Costa Rica (Colon to Herradura). The Voyager. The best excursion was with the Embera tribe. Loved everything except being separated at diner from the Odyssey tour people. That was very strange and unfortunate not to be able to get to know them also. The diner seating was maintained at almost every meal even though their tables were not "reserved" at breakfast & lunch. Least interesting town, Portobello (Panama). Great cruise, great crew!”

“Our February 2015 Costa Rica / Panama cruise on Variety Voyager was fabulous. The boat was quite new, and the crew, service and food couldn't have been better. The on-board internet connection was very slow, but we were warned in advance of purchasing it. The land excursions were well planned and included great tours of wildlife preserves with knowledgeable guides able to point out many animals I would never have spotted on my own. The snorkeling at Granito de Oro was some of the best I've experienced outside of the Great Barrier Reef, although shorter than I would have liked. We also had a fun zip-lining experience that was quite extensive. The passage through the Panama Canal was an experience to remember. Due to rough seas we had to skip a planned visit to the San Blas Islands on the final day, but the crew was able to arrange a similar land excursion a the last minute.”

“Harmony V was a great little yacht with a wonderful crew and good food. Excursions were well-planned and interesting.”

“We were passengers evacuated from the failed 10 night cruise around the islands of Tahiti on Variety’s Panorama II that departed Papeete on the afternoon of Friday 3rd November due to an electrical failure on board. After setting sail from Papeete and mooring overnight at Moorea we, personally, were looking forward to a cruise we had planned and booked 15 months earlier to reunite with friends from across the globe we rarely see. We did not envisage our long anticipated cruise would last less than 24hrs and we’d be dumped back in Papeete and left to scramble to sort out our own accommodation paying inflated prices for what few vacancy options were available. We understand sometimes things go wrong but we were disappointed with the actions of variety cruises for a number of reasons. 1. Setting sail with a vessel that was inadequately equipped for the safety of passengers having no electrical system backup or emergency lighting - some life jackets were faulty and there was no notification by the crew to passengers of the situation. We were forced to navigate dark passageways before we reached crew who could enlighten us to the situation on the Saturday morning. 2. Being disembarked with the advice we would have two full board nights provided while we made alternate arrangements to accommodate ourselves only to be told a few hours later that it was only going to be one night. We all lost the opportunity of beginning our search for a solution to our accommodation dilemma much earlier. This also created a problem for those of us who booked privately or through travel agents in our home countries where it was a weekend and access to assistance was therefore limited. There was limited care for our situations other than the suggestion of finding ourselves a room for the following night urgently due to limited vacancies. 3. Not being provided with suggested alternative itineraries and pricing - most holidays are planned by passengers well in advance and being given only hours to find solutions for ourselves was daunting when we were not familiar with possible alternatives for our holidays. We were familiar with the cruise itinerary and excursions, not accommodation opportunities on the islands included in our itinerary and transport options on how to get to them. 4. Promising our refund would be processed first thing Monday morning and not receiving it until nearly a month later - meanwhile having to fund our accommodations until we were able to fly home. 5. Watching the captain stand speechless on the aft deck “vaping” whilst we digested our dilemma. At least that could have been done more discreetly out of the vision of passengers whose dream holidays were just swept from under them. 6. Continuing to post images and videos on social media of cruising in Tahiti knowing the vessel was docked for repairs and there were 30+ devastated disembarked passengers spending a fortune on last minute accommodations in a very expensive location. Talk about rubbing salt into wounds! 7. The offer of a 20% discount on a future cruise taken in the next 12 months when up to 60% discounts were then advertised to the general public! Given there are no cruise destinations with this company close to Australia, any offer is mute as it involves significant cost to travel to a cruise location. NO consideration was given to us from variety cruises of those significant travel costs we are now out of pocket to get to Tahiti in the first place. We cannot afford to risk that again. We understood Tahiti was a fairly new destination for this Greek cruise company who have been around for 75 years, but it seems that they are not adequately equipped with the type of vessel required for all seasons. Every passenger on our cruise had a story behind why they’d chosen that cruise and destination. For us it was a reunion with friends from the USA who we aren’t see and a celebration of retirement after years of working up to 50 hrs a week in a highly stressful job. What better way to start retirement than cruising the islands of French Polynesia! Fifteen months of planning and waiting for a dream destination holiday snatched away in less than 24hrs. We are thoroughly disappointed.”

“Tahiti trip really blew my mind from the day we moved and last day we moved out. Crew members doing a wonderful job the take care of each passenger from food to board and every night we had local people enriched us their culture and history. Over all was amazing.
