“Very happy with the trainers I bought, they look good, are well made and are very comfortable. I'm also pleased to be able to find a more sustainable alternative to Vans.”
“I really love the shoe itself, well made and super cool!
The customer service and transparency has left me desiring a LOT. I’m very easy to please and love supporting businesses like these but had issues with the size chart as it’s different than most EU sizes I’ve seen in the past but I decided to trust it. Turns out it’s the wrong size so I should’ve gone with my regular size. No problem because exchanging is free…except it’s not which is not stated on the website :( I put in a returns request and had to reach out to get it back and once it was approved I was told I’d have to cover the shipping fees back to the UK (from the USA so at least $30-$50?) which I didn’t budget for. In fact I waited almost a year to buy these hoping to 1. Make ethical consumption choices to only buy shoes when I need them and 2. Hoping for the cost to go down significantly (it did). I reached out with these comments to trash planet and hope they can be resolved but I haven’t heard back in days.”
“I love my new trainers. They are very bouncy off the ground and I like that rebound when I walk. They are very sturdy and substantial I think they will last for a long time they seem very well made. I love how ethically produced they are and they looks cool I get lots of compliments and people are so suprised when I tell them what they're made of because they look so great! I always recommend them to people. So comfy. Very happy and would order again.”
“Speedy delivery just in time for my holiday and in minimal planet-friendly packaging. (Love to see it). The shoes are a great fit with a wide enough toe box for my feet and a comfy feel. They go great with my Dickies trousers and will be a staple in my future fits.”
“Easy to order, arrived on time and very pleased with my first purchase of trash planet, been vegan 35 years, I think these are the most comfy trainers I have had, and they are really environmentally friendly. So all in all buzzing! Thanks”
“I bought my first pair (Franco 920 Stone) and I’m obsessed with them. I’ve been wanting a cool pair of sneakers forever but was looking for a vegan brand that is environmentally conscious and Trash Planet is that brand! They are comfortable and go with everything, and I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments. I appreciate that they are recyclable at the end of their life as well!”
“I would not buy from this business again. They are incredibly difficult to get hold of once they have taken your money. The product looks good, but if you want an exchange, or have any sort of query, you may find you are waiting many weeks. You can only contact them via email or message on Instagram, and even then they don't respond quickly. I'm still waiting for any sort of response to confirm that my returned boots arrived back with them safely, and that they can provide an exchange. I'm very unimpressed.”
“I'm still waiting on how Trashplanet handles the exchange for the right size shoes, I bought my daughter for Christmas. I have not had any luck talking to a real person to help resolve it.”
“Only 3 stars - I would actually give 4 for the Riot boots and 2 for the customer service.
I ordered and paid in full before the November shipping date, but had to chase for dispatch on an Instagram post (as my previous email was ignored).
I received the boots and thought they were a bit snug, so followed the exchange process and filled in the form on the website in mid- December, conscious that there is a 30 day window to do this from receipt, and I'm yet to receive a response. I even sent an Instagram message on 18th Dec (a week after requesting the exchange) to ask if the apple leather stretches at all, as I may not need to swap if it does give. No response.
So, I'm keeping the boots as they seem to have given a little, but I will not be ordering from Trash Planet again. It's a shame, as I really wanted to support such a brilliant initiative, but being ignored after spending so much money just isn't acceptable and I hope this type of feedback helps you to improve for the benefit of other people.”
“Here's what we posted on Instagram along with this photo as Music In Our Underpants:
A foot-note from @music_in_our_underpants !!! Collin just got the Franco 223 "SKATE" sneaker from TrashPlanet, and Kieran took this photo (in the Scurvy Dog crew's rehearsal space to deliberately make it look like a footwear ad... because Trash Planet sneakers :
- Are Vegan, so no animals were slaughtered
- Have soles that are formed from #recycled rather than new rubber, so introduce no new toxins to the planet
- Have laces made from shredded ocean plastic
- Have lining and “leather” made from food waste
- Are ethically handmade in Portugal with local materials by employees who are treated well and paid fairly
- Look dope!
The cost was £124.19 including the shipping. We also dig their slogan: “Keep you coastin' dirty whilst keeping your conscience clean.” Hurrah for Sustainable Fashion !
As an additional note to the post, they're durable and cozy all at once!”
“I only put two because I really love the ethos. But it’s abit of a joke that I ordered shoes in June and they haven’t arrived!
I have emailed and messaged transplanet since and go no reply so I feel scammed out of 100 pounds!”
“I've waited very long for my Sneakers, but finally they arrived. I'm glad about this, because I like them very best and walking with those shoes is a good feeling for feet and soul.”
“These took ages to arrive and I was worried that it was a scam but I did receive communication regarding the delay.
Were they worth the wait? ABSOLUTELY!!!! I love them! So stylish and super comfortable. When I first tried them on the back of the heel seemed really low but I just wear thicker socks and they are fine and there is no ‘wearing in’ required. I get lots of compliments and would definitely buy again!”
“Wow! Just wow! I am so pleased with the quality and comfort of my Apple Leather boots. Honestly shocked! Thank you so much for producing my jew favourite pair of shoes!”
