About The British Blanket Company:

The British Blanket Company is a family-run business bringing colour, comfort and warmth to homes all over the UK and beyond. Founded by siblings Bethan and Joe, we’re passionate about creating beautiful blankets that feel as good as they look.

Our designs begin in our Bristol studio, where we pair joyful colour palettes with timeless patterns. Each blanket is then woven at traditional mills around the British Isles using natural, sustainable fibres like wool and recycled cotton.

What makes us special is our focus on quality, craftsmanship and sustainability. We work closely with our makers and choose materials that are kind to both people and the planet.

Our customers love us for our uplifting colours, thoughtful touches and the cosy feeling that comes with every blanket. Whether you’re treating yourself or sending a gift, we’re here to help you find a little extra joy, every day.

“Amazing customer service. I was gifting some blankets to family who were visiting from overseas, and returning home fairly soon. It was just amazing that I placed the order on a Sunday morning and received the parcel early on Tuesday. Obviously being a returning customer I had no doubt about the quality of the blankets. Every one of them was so delightful. A much loved present by everyone. Thank you so much.”

“I needed to find a gift for a relative at short notice and decided to order two blankets from The British Blanket company to be able to compare them and to choose one I like more. I was impressed with a very fast delivery, also returns process was very straightforward. However I wasn't happy with the quality of the blankets. Both of them were described as "soft", but none of them actually was, wool is very rough, spiky and has a strong smell of sheep. It would be acceptable for a rustic style but it wasn't what I have expected based on pictures and overall impression from the brushed and polished website. I've chosen the blanket which smelled less but I'd return it as well if not an urgent need. I'm leaving 4 stars for the speed of delivery, website and as an expression of my sympathy to the family businesses. I'd wish however to improve fairness of products' description (to have a scale of softness maybe?) and to work on smell as it was just unbearable for one blanket and just a little bit better for the second one.”

Thank you for your review and your kind words about our service. We use natural wool to make all our blankets. Some customers notice the natural lanolin scent of the wool fibre which many people love, but if it's a concern it will quickly fade with an hour or two outside in the fresh air. Perhaps next time we can help you choose from our merino lambswool selection which have a smoother feel and tend to be preferred by customers who want a very soft feel. “Although we currently have very warm weather, I have just bought a blanket ready for the autumn. The first I ordered wasn’t quite what I wanted but it was a quick and easy process to swap it for another, which I love. I haven’t used it yet but it looks lovely over the arm of the sofa and is better than I imagined. Great quality, great customer service and hopefully an heirloom that will outlast me.”

“We are in the process of returning to natural fibre and wanted to buy something made in the UK. These blankets fit the bill not only are they excellent quality they look good and appear to regulate nighttime temperatures better than our old duvet”

“I now have 6 beautiful blankets for 5 beds in our house and 1 sofa throw. My recent purchase of the gorgeous Blackberry and Heather XL blanket is the same outstanding quality as the others. We now only use sheets and a blanket for summer and will just add an extra blanket in the winter. I have ditched the duvets as wool blankets are very comfortable to sleep under as they adjust to different body temperature. British Blanket company have a glorious range of colours and patterns, service is first class and it is great to buy British - a very satisfied customer.”

“I ordered a Merino Wool blanket in Teal. I was very pleased with the quality and the colour of this blanket and it looked fantastic on the bed. However I decided that the extra large would be a better size. Unfortunately it is not available in the larger size so I have had to return it. However I am looking forward to seeing the new range soon.”
