Spires is a premier online tutoring marketplace connecting students and expert tutors worldwide. We support 400+ subjects at every level — Key Stage 3, GCSE/IGCSE, A level/IB, university admissions, undergraduate/Master’s/PhD, and a wide range of postgraduate and professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, accountancy, law, STEM, and specialist entrance tests).

Using machine learning, Spires surfaces the best-fit tutors for each brief — balancing subject expertise, academic level, availability, and budget. Classes are one-to-one, fully online, interactive (BitPaper whiteboard, screen share, resources), and automatically recorded so learners can replay sessions anytime.

Our impact at scale is clear. In 2024, Spires enabled 100,000+ classes delivered by 1,000 vetted tutors to 9,000 students across 120 countries. 81% of students reported a grade uplift, and lesson feedback averaged 4.97/5. In our 2025 client survey, students also reported strong outcomes across GCSE, A-level and undergraduate study — reflecting the platform’s emphasis on targeted, high-quality instruction.

Quality is non-negotiable. Only about 7% of tutor applicants are accepted, following interviews, enhanced background checks, and teaching simulations. Many tutors hold postgraduate qualifications (including PhDs) and university-level teaching experience; others bring chartered or professionally accredited expertise. Beyond credentials, we prioritise educators who personalise strategy, build confidence, and raise performance from the first lesson.

“I have been using this platform since February and can rate it highly as a platform providing an interactive means of communicating with students. There is plenty of jobs to bid on and the payment is absolutely transparent and 100% to be relied on, even form foreign students. I have also encountered some technical probelms, but was always readily helped by asking Help.”

“the worst platform i ever encountered is Spires. They say they have university tutors but the tutors only know how to ask questions and after telling what the assignment is about they only close it because they don't know without saying they don't know the assignment. Despite claiming they have papers being published. so ridiculous. Then we have Shahid who is the worst admin there who don't know even how to chat with someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
