"I\u2019ve put the Inky Impression 13.3 (2025 Edition) into a custom wooden frame to make a photo viewer.\r\nCompared with earlier revisions, this edition cuts the screen refresh time to less than half. That\u2019s brilliant!\r\n\r\nThe Spectra 6 used in the 2025 Edition drops one colour (orange) compared with the previous Gallery Palette, but Pimoroni\u2019s library abstracts that difference, so the same Python script runs without any changes. In other words, there\u2019s no need to implement your own error-diffusion: the library handles it natively and quickly. It\u2019s perfectly usable even on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2. I\u2019m running a Zero 2 W on four Ni-H AA cells. For the microSD, I use an overlay file system\u2014i.e. the root (\/) is mounted read-only\u2014so even if the system shuts down abruptly due to battery drain, I\u2019ve had no issues at all.\r\n\r\nI\u2019ve heard rumours that the panel manufacturer has larger Spectra 6 sizes in its line-up. If Pimoroni were to release a 31.5-inch Spectra 6 version, I\u2019d be very keen to buy one."

"I retro-fitted a broken Amazon Echo Dot with a Pi Zero and a Pimoroni Amp Shim - it now streams my music and internet radio using PiCorePlayer software. The Pimoroni Amp Shim works well but it really does need to be soldered as the interference fit isn't reliable. I've had several of these shims and all have needed soldering - it's not a problem but it is an issue you need to be aware of. Otherwise, it's great.\r\n"
