“Our group of 7 (two families) booked a 10 day trip to Sweden, and wanted to explore more of the country than just Stockholm. So glad to have found Off the Map Travel (OTM), as they made getting "up north" to a beautiful part of the country to chase the Northern Lights SO easy. Those 5 days were the absolute highlight of the trip, and booking with OTM gave us access to truly unique, boutique stays that were private to our small group. Our planning guide, Amy, was thoughtful, detailed, and timely in communications with me throughout the planning. OTM offers full concierge planning support, but as our families are seasoned travelers, Amy was flexible to work with me for our group to manage portions of the in-Sweden travel on our own so we could use "points" for travel cost offsets. Once on the ground, it was so much fun, with great activities, tasty, high-quality local/traditional foods, absolutely on-point accommodations and gracious, friendly hosts and activity guides. The included heavy-duty cold-weather outerwear (the "Supersuits!") and warm boots were indispensable. We appreciated they stayed with us for the duration of our time with OTM, as we wore them everywhere with our offsite activities and exploring around our lodging, too. We loved the people we met through OTM's network and adored each and every place we stayed. From a cost perspective, Scandinavia is expensive in general, so value-wise, the investment to travel with OTM was pretty reasonable. You could book a similar tour on your own, but the travel industry relationships they have for absolutely boutique lodging, activities, transport truly give you access you'd be hard-pressed to book independently. So for that, we found the slight premium in cost was worth it for the experience we had in return. Point to consider--flexibility is a must, especially with shoulder season travel as we did. We ended up dog carting vs dog sledding due to snow conditions (Amy had given heads up of that possibility at booking, and it was still amazing!), and, had a change in lodging, confirmed a few days before our trip began, noting access challenges due to the lake the original property was on not being fully frozen. As these things go, the alternate location we stayed at actually ended up a favorite for everyone because of the ambiance, comfortable accommodations, wonderful food, expanded included activities, and onsite crew. So, we appreciated how seamless the transition to the alt lodge happened, with no additional changes to our overall package. Overall, we had a blast, and would definitely look to book with Off the Map Travel again!”

“Wow! What a company! When I wanted a company to organise a bespoke trip to Lapland for a family of 4, with different ideas of what is fun, I had no idea that it would be so simple. OTMT organised the most amazing holiday for us - out of this world accommodation, high quality excursions, transport,and even helped me sort out flights (which is something they don’t usually do). I had two agents (Holly and Ana) support me during the very long planning time (2 years thanks to Covid) and they gave me personalised and professional support. Nothing was too much trouble, even when Covid scuppered our plans. I was initially worried that their glossy website wouldn’t live up to expections, but the holiday by far exceeded them. The private portal that you log into to access travel, accommodation and activities was easy to use and clear. When in Finnish Lapland, it was clear that OTMT and our excursions company work very closely together, and that just reinforced what a good decision we made to use them. This was not a cheap holiday - we didn’t want that. We wanted value for money and we certainly feel that we got that. Our only problem is that we have fallen in love with Finland and want to return asap. We had better vet saving!”

Everything from the time I made my first enquiry, some 18 months ago, to the conclusion of the trip were done exceptionally well and professionally. “This is the second time we have used Off The Map Travel and again, they did not disappoint. OTMT found us a great hotel in Tromso, Norway for the first part of our holiday that was in a great location for sightseeing. The second part of the holiday was Christmas spent at the lodge at Lyngen Experience and what a gem that was. We were looked after wonderfully and had a Christmas we will not forget. I believe OTMT personally visit all locations they offer so nothing is ever left to chance and Alice, our organiser, was able to answer all questions we had. The online itinerary is just brilliant, with everything - hotels, transfers, excursions etc. there to see at a click of a button. The excursions taken were excellent, with my partner even going on a Whale Safari. I would not hesitate in recommending OTMT, the service they provide is absolutely first class. “This was a trip wished for a very long time. Shivani and Off the Map Travel staff were all the way from conception of the trip (thank you Shivani for tayloring this trip for me with all I wanted) till the trip itself (Ellen, front desk guys) making every detail work as planned. The hotel and the tours were excellent. I was informed all the time about tour cancellations (nature) and they would email me asking me every day how was my day, I never had to contact them, they would contact me and this was very re-assuring as I knew they would help me if needed. I am already planning a second trip, to try to see the northern lights and that would be with Off The Map Travel as I know they will arrange the best possible trip for me. “If you've got a 'Bucket List' of places you want to travel to, don't do it without Off the Map Travel! They are the only holiday company that let you choose what YOU want to do, and when you want to do it. They are the only company that supports you while you're on holiday (in case there are problems with weather, transport etc). We went to Iceland, and in spite of the weather (blizzards!) delaying our flight out and cancelling lots of our pre-booked trips, we had a fantastic time, and everything that we had planned with OTMT was perfect. OTMT's 'Front Desk' service, re-arranged airport pickups and moved pre-booked trips to other days (most other holiday-makers were not so lucky!). Can't recommend OTMT enough. Will use OTMT again (and again).”

“From start to finish they were incredible. I would not hesitate to use them again and am already planning my next trip with them. They ensured we saw the very best of Iceland in a short period of time. Katy and Florence were brilliant. Flo understood our requirements and her recent experience of Iceland meant she could not only help guide us as to what we should see over our long weekend but also went as far to suggest some restaurants etc whilst we were over there giving us a really personal experience. The accommodation and the tours we booked through them were exceptional, from the luxury experience at the blue lagoon to the knowledgeable guide who took us around the golden circle, it is clear that Off the Map Travel have people who know their holiday destinations through first hand experience and have consequently hand picked the people and companies they deal with. We thoroughly enjoyed the adventure, including dog sleds, snowmobiles, northern lights photography, Sami & reindeer experiences, boat tours, sea eagles, polar park, and glorious primordial landscapes. Everyone we met, especially the arctic guides, was friendly, vibrant, and loved living in this beautiful, fresh environment. Every day was special and exciting. We packed well, with proper warm clothing, and when we went out into the chilly nights to search for the lights, the guides provided even more protective gear. They looked out for us well, and we enjoyed the challenging elements. We'll never forget this adventure!”

Katie was fabulous in arranging our snow adventure holiday, even though we only gave her a couple of days to get it organised. Being able to go away with the kids and not worry about transfers and activities was perfect. Whilst on holiday the Frontdesk were great at letting us know when one of our activities got cancelled and finding us other suitable options. They also managed to change our transfer times when we wanted to leave Norway early and drive across to Finland.”

“I was looking to surprise my wife (and kids) for her 50th and the itinerary that Off the Map put together surpassed all of our expectations. A stay in a cabin (with sauna) in beautiful Bjorkliden in north east Sweden where we alpine skied on empty slopes, snowmobiled, husky sledged, ice fished and aurora hunted (no luck as it was cloudy), ate loads of reindeer cooked on open fires amongst other ways followed by 3 nights in the absolutely amazing Treehotel in north east Sweden were we snow shoed, cross country skied and went into the wilderness to capture the lights on a photography course (success - unbelievably the only night they came out - perfect timing!), ate more reindeer (excellent) and moose (which is stunning), suana'd, hot tubbed.....2 nights in the Dragonfly room culminating in the last night in the stunning new 7th room.......truly a holiday of a lifetime. All the way through Off the Map were excellent with a particular call out to Florence who has been great. We would highly recommend them and will be looking for more opportunities to use them again. “Off the Map took my dream and made it an experience. Every item they set up worked perfectly. Prior to my trip I had many questions and concerns. OTMT answered them all. They followed up with answers to questions I didn't ask. OTMT contracted with the best people.
