Jay & Calum were amazing - kind, considerate and so hard working- they’re an absolute credit to you. Even moving all of our furniture for us and popping back to check things when a storm was forecast. They went above & beyond and were so easy to be around.
I was a little anxious about it all but I can honestly say thanks to all the trades who came in & out there was really no stress at all, and the whole process just took care of itself - it felt too easy! They were all so tidy and friendly chatting away to me & being aware of all the kids as well as always being so professional and accommodating.

“Kingsmead have just finished our loft conversion (1 bedroom, dressing room & en-suite), completed on time in just under 8 weeks. We are extremely happy with the work and the process from initial design to finish has been smooth and efficient. It hadn't crossed our mind we could have space for a dressing room so were really pleased with the design suggestion made by Adam and Adrian the architect. The first fix team Tim and Johnny were brilliant, reliable, super efficient and hard working causing minimum disruption. The second fix team were also fantastic - Ben the plasterer, Jack and Ross the plumbers, Jack and his electrical team, Darren the tiler, Nick the carpenter and Craig the project manager - everyone was super friendly and hard working, answering any questions we had. “We chose kingsmead loft conversions to build 2 bedrooms in our loft space in January 2022. The build started in May 2022.
We had the pleasure of meeting lots of the team, from Carl, Alex, Craig, Darren, Nick, Dave, Jack Ross, TJ, Ben, Saf & Tim. I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone. From the carpenters to the electricians, the plumbers and even the suppliers who delivered materials, we were very impressed with them all.
All the team have been fantastic, and they are clearly masters of their trade. We had a couple of bumps along the way which are expected when your having such a big improvement to your home, and your team were all supportive & patient with us. I have 2 autistic children, which meant a lot needed to be packed away each day, and the team were very understanding & accommodating. We really appreciated that.

“We had a dormer loft conversion, which involved building up the hip roof, to accommodate a new master bedroom and en suite bathroom.
Once plans were approved, the friendly and enthusiastic builders came to site and helped talk through the process, and they worked efficiently with clear expertise and attention to detail.
The whole team, which included builders, scaffolders, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, plasterers, tilers, were all fantastic. I was genuinely impressed with all of them. All work was overseen by Adam and Craig, who provided clear communication throughout.
We requested a quite a few additional pieces of works to the ground and second floor, and the extra price was agreed and these works were also carried out efficiently and to a very high standard.
We are delighted with the end result. It's like having a new house!”

“After a recommendation, and watching Kingsmead's team complete a loft conversion near by we took the plunge and contracted with Adam to complete our loft conversion.
To say that we are happy with our decision would be an understatement, the process from quotation through to completion was as smooth and professional as could be!!
We were given a commencement date and build programme of 8 weeks and a lump sum price from previous experiences with other builders dates are missed, price goes up etc; So when the team arrived on time and finished the works 1 week early we couldn't be happier.
The only changes to the price were for agreed extra's that we requested after commencement of project, even this process was made straight forward and hassle free.
The quality of the work completed is second to none, the guys working for Adam are friendly, considerate and tidy; nothing is to much trouble.
Really could not say enough positives about our experience and would recommend without a second thought.

Adam came out to see us on numerous occassions and drafted multiple plans, giving us plenty of options to make sure we were getting exactly what we were looking for.
Once the build started, the builders were efficient and hardworking, as well as genuinely good guys. “We have just had a velux loft conversion completed by Kingsmead on time and to the fixed price we agreed beforehand, during a pandemic. Despite the uncertainty of the situation the build started on the date that was planned from January and the only hold up to the build was when there was a national plaster shortage!
The tradesman who came to work on site were all professional and friendly. They completed a high standard of work and we are thrilled with the standard of the finished job. However, we did have a number of issues with the plumbing, mainly caused by a lack of communication from the plumber to us, meaning we had to get him to return several times to put things right that could have been done correctly in the first place with a bit of communication.
Like another reviewer, I would advise that you stay close to the project and make sure you ask the tradesman what they are doing before they do it. We engaged with our plumber at the outset to ensure what we ordered for the bathroom would fit. Despite this, we still had issues, complicated by the pandemic making getting hold of things more challenging. Having never completed a project like this before, I would have just appreciated some better guidance on the plumbing side, rather than the plumber just going ahead and doing things before consulting with us.
Having said this, when I queried things or made any challenges, Adam responded quickly and efficiently and everything we raised was completed to a high standard. We even had some issues with wardrobe installations after the job had been completed which they assisted us with and didn't charge us extra.
I would definitely recommend Kingsmead to anyone looking for a company to complete a loft conversion. We are very happy with the end result.”
