About Kakoa:

Kakoa the UK's biggest selection of vegan chocolate flavours.

Back in 2019 when Rich’s wife turned vegan he wanted to treat her with some chocolate but was left surprised with the lack of innovation and choice available.

He took matters into his own hands and made some vegan milk chocolates in his kitchen.

After a few months and with the help of his brother Michael KAKOA was born. The name KAKAO is German for cocoa (although with the O and A the wrong way round as we like to be different!), is a nod to the brothers German mother who was very supportive as the business grew.

Biodegradable packaging
When we started out, we made a promise that all our packaging would be 100% biodegradable. It still is and always will be.

UK’s biggest selection vegan chocolate flavours
Currently we have 19 flavours of vegan chocolate, the biggest in the UK. We believe plant based is the future of chocolate.

Award winning chocolate
We think our chocolate is epic but it’s nice when other people think the same. We are proud to have won our first Great Taste Award.

“My adult children love this chocolate however it is quite expensive compared to non vegan chocolate”

“Delicious - well so my grandchildren tell me. I bought the easter egg chocolates in three different flavours. I was surprised at how small they were when they arrived, but that will teach me to read the details and not depend on the pictures.”

“So nice to find good quality and varied vegan chocolate. Fantastic choice on website, prices are reasonable. They arrived beautifully packaged and very quickly. Nice small boxes to try or to give as gifts. I hadn't realised how much I'd missed that beautiful crack of the chocolate when you bite into it, also the sheer variety, including the much missed milk and white chocolate. (I do get tired of the bitter, dark, 'vegan' chocolate on offer). Found a couple I'd really like to get again. Would be good to know if small boxes would be postbox friendly, if you can't always be home.”

“From shopping and ordering on the website to receiving the chocolates, the process was seamless and effficient. There was a wonderful variety of flavours in the box, and although we found the chocolates to be a bit too sweet, our whole (vegan) family enjoyed them very much. A selection box of just dark chocolates would be great as an option.”

“We were very pleased to receive a selection gift box last Christmas and enjoyed them very much. We looked to re-order some items during the year. However we have been disappointed on a couple of occasions, ie: (i) you did not offer a plain chocolate Easter Egg and (ii) you do not offer a facility to choose a box of your own favourite chocolates. It is rather a "take it or leave it" attitude, which is a real shame. We really want to support vegan-only organisations and have just made a purchase from you but we would have bought more if choose-your-own was made available.”

“Our dear daughter tells us your choices are most assuredly the best for lactose free treats. She enjoys your chocolates......and we we are so pleased to have found some she can have ,without fretting if we have chosen rightly! Thankyou so much to all diligent staff. “Nice packaging and quick delivery, BUT I was very disappointed to read on the underside label that these VEGAN chocolates, which I bought for a gift, MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF EGG, and are packed in an environment which handles DAIRY PRODUCTS !!! This was not mentioned in the description online. Now I have to buy another gift!”

“Chocolates are out of this world. By far, stand out BEST vegan chocolates, and I have tried a great many. However I cannot give 5 stars as they got my order wrong. I emailed to let them know and they ignored me. Disappointing customer service, but can't give less than 4 stars as the chocolate is actually worth 10 stars.”

“Love the company and the flavours of the chocolate that I’ve eaten so far (white cookie and Jaffa cake) although felt that the vienesse truffles were bland and tasteless unfortunately and accidentally bought 2 boxes!”
