“We had a lovely weekend stay at Hampton Manor. We dined in both restaurants which are just outstanding for food and service. The rooms were beautiful. The only thing needing just a little more attention was the provision of the refreshments during the afternoon. It”
“Excellent considerate staff. Slight confusion on the room terms though as one would assume B&B at that price would be included in the rate but was charged for breakfast also whereby one could have gone to Smoke grabbed a pastry and coffee from the pantry and hit the road. Grace and Savour is definitely a saviour in terms of dining although the culinary landscape in that part of the world has blossomed greatly. An oasis with a train line too to be accessed swiftly from London! BestX”
“We have enjoyed every visit to all of the restaurants and to the bakery. It is a beautiful place, set in lovely grounds and they are meticulous in their maintenance and service. They have an excellent selection of events on too. A real foodie paradise.”
“I attended a foraging course on a very wet Sunday. Overall I felt it was very good and I enjoyed the experience. The car parking signage could have been better and the joining instructions were not clear.”
“Love Hampton Manor. Have visited on a number of occasions over the years. During lock down the picnic lunch in the grounds was a breathe of fresh air.
So it makes me sad to have to say that on the one time we splashed out to stay for a few nights for a special birthday celebration things didn't go quite to plan... The food was excellent and service friendly and attentive.
However, maintenance, housekeeping and general attention to detail were sadly lacking. One of hottest days of the year and the air conditioning was not working, the bedroom should have been a twin but was a double, cobwebs adorned the main staircase at hand height and the bread making session we had booked was cancelled due to a lack of water! Whilst any single one of these issues on its own would have been forgotten long ago, they multiplied and left a sour note.”
“I liked the welcome and the ambience, especially at the chef's counter. Thee food was interesting and involving with a clear preference for local ingredients. An apppealing mix of bold and subtle flavours.
I didn't like that no menu was available until the end of the meal. This makes it hard to order wine, or judge wine consumption, especially as glasses are topped up from a distant counter.”
