I found the door I wanted online it had beveled glass I phoned and to order and double checked it had beveled glass, when it turned up it had flat glass! Door station gave me £25 discount which I accepted as it was the week before Christmas and my customer was desperate for a door. The door was not particularly well made the mdf panel was not glued on strait and the joinery on the glazing bars were very messy.

[04 January 2023] Hi Andrew Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, XL Joinery changed the glass from bevelled to flat but didn't tell us - we have now updated the site. I can see you were offered either a partial refund to keep you door or a free return / full credit. With regard to the quality of the beading, I will feed this back to XL. [28 February 2024] Dear Mr Rudman, We are genuinely disheartened to hear that you felt this was too long. We do our best to highlight the estimated lead times for all custom doors, by showing it right before the Buy button on the product page along with all the information regarding the made-to-measure process. Given your custom door was from LPD this was originally estimated at 16-18 weeks. This date we also provided to you when you asked us mid-way through the process where the estimated day of arrival was 28th Feb - which is today - so it appears delivery was actually made ahead of schedule. Very mixed bag for us I'm afraid. On the plus side, doors appear to be of a lovely quality, and they arrived very well packaged and protected; they were also competitively priced. Unfortunately, the communication from the company has been very poor at every stage, with updates only received when instigated/chased by us. The doors took 4 1/2 months to arrive, outside even the longest estimate; whilst I appreciate that this can occur due to reasons outside the company's control, again very poor communication and an update only provided when chased. The delivery itself was disappointing, instructions made it clear that the driver would ring ahead on the day to provide an eta, this did not happen and when questioned he said he knew nothing about it; in addition, the driver left the pallet and delivery materials with us, saying it was against company policy to remove, this was frustrating and caused us problems with disposal, none of this was communicated in advance. Overall disappointing I'm afraid.

I’m glad to hear that you’re happy with the quality of the doors and found them well-packaged and competitively priced. I’m sorry that the communication and delivery process didn’t meet expectations. We make every effort to outline lead times on our website, in our confirmation emails, and when sending over drawings. Unfortunately, your delivery took 18 weeks rather than the estimated 14 due to an unexpected container delay in the Red Sea. I understand how frustrating that must have been, and we’re currently working on a system to keep customers proactively updated at every stage. The issues with the driver’s communication and the pallet disposal are equally concerning, as our aim is to make the entire process smooth and straightforward.
