All the activities that were booked went like clockwork. They were most enjoyable and the guides made us feel like we weren't just a number, but very special clients. Even the drivers of the transfer vehicles made us feel special. Our hotel staff were especially friendly and polite. Accommodation was most comfortable. The level of cuisine was incredible and unexpected in such a remote place. I had one issue with it however - having known well in advance that I couldn't eat fish, whenever it was on the menu, I was only served vegetarian courses. No meat alternative was served. I was very disappointed to say the least.

A big thank you to you for 'rescuing' our trip. The arrangements you made for us were absolutely excellent. At one stage we were facing a bit of a disaster, with all the cancelled excursions due to the weather, and then the heavy snow in Reykjavik but you 'saved the day' by arranging alternative transport to get to our second hotel when the hire car company was 'snowed in'. AND we got to see the Northern Lights on our last night at Ranga. How lucky was that! We would also like to extend a big thank you to South Coast. All their guys (and one lady) were terrific. They were friendly, very knowledgeable about Iceland and made the trips so enjoyable. Our Iceland trip was well planned by Weekend a La Carte, arranging all the things we wanted to do and see. We hope to be in contact with you again for other trips.

The whole trip was very well planned as we were contacted to let us know that there had been a big snow fall which had closed many roads. So, they didn't just sell us a trip, they made sure we had an enjoyable and safe holiday.

Great 4 day break and much as expected from the descriptions provided by the Weekend a la carte Aurora Nights team. The staff at the Mattarahkka Sami Northern Lights Lodge were all very friendly and ensured that the visitors made the best of the experiences that they had booked.

we really enjoyed all the activities. Mikko was relaxed but efficient and flexible. the accommodation was fine - I would say the walls are rather thin so if you have noisy neighbours/people socialising in the sitting area its hard to sleep. I was initially disappointed in the location of the lodge as it is on the main road out of Kiruna so a bit noisy with trucks passing, and various lights and industry around, plus the scenery not very inspiring. once we got out on our trips we were able to enjoy more picturesque scenery. and all the experiences we went on were good.

I can honestly say it was the best 'long weekend trip I have experienced. The people, activities and the lodge were fantastic. We saw the lights 2 nights out of 3 which was the icing on the cake.

Full board and all activities included so nothing to organise. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful and customer service at Abisko Lodge second to none. The activities are extremely well organised, the leaders warm and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful few days and would definitely return. Unfortunately we didn't have good sightings of the aurora - the first couple of nights they were visible but faint and diffused and then the sky clouded over for our last two night. No matter! We still had a great time in beautiful surroundings and now have an excuse to go back and try again!

Our trip lived up to our expectations and more, we loved the intimacy of the hotel and the small number of guests on the excursions. The skidoo safari was fantastic with breathtaking views, we saw only one other person on a two hour trip. The ice hotel was very interesting and to have a cocktail out of a giant ice cube was great fun. Anki looked after all our needs and made our stay that little bit extra special. I took my wife to see the northern lights for her 50th birthday, it is a trip we both recommend to anybody who likes adventure but is always looked after in a safe and friendly way.

We spend four nights at Abisko Mountain Lodge. The Lodge is a very welcoming and friendly place to stay. Although accommodation is basic, it is very clean and comfortable. The dinner menu was delicious every evening! We had a great time on all the activities and particularly enjoyed the dog sledding and snowmobiling - an experience to remember! Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the northern lights, which was a shame as we were booked onto the photo evening. The whole experience was very relaxing. The only worry was the very short transfer time between flights...we only just made it to the gate in time!

What a great experience overall in 4 days at Kiruna and Jukkasjarvi, hospitality at Mattarhakka northern lights lodge was particularly lovely, especially Mikko and a lady who served breakfast in the morning. We were well looked after and didn't have to worry about anything. Food was great at the lodge and at the ice hotel restaurants.

Your hard work making the itinerary, worked superbly, making for a relaxed journey to the Mountain Lodge. The staff at the Lodge were amazingly friendly, the accommodation and particularly the meals were outstanding, as were the activities . The Abisko area mountains and lake ,were to us, as photographers, a dream come true. Not only did we capture the Aurora Borealis, but also , many unique images as the sky turned pink and golden, on the mountains and surrounding area. Our thanks to all the staff at the Abisko Mountain Lodge, who made us so welcome and to those who provided the activities. Sandra & Tony
