“Amazing trip. Northern lights came out to play which was a dream come true. Abisko Mountain Lodge was the perfect, cosy stay ( recommend upgrading to superior room) with amazing food and service and all of our excursions were expertly run by experienced and friendly guides. Special mention to Mikel for a great national park walk and photo night. Also Will as our friendly driver. Aurora Nights were professional and communicative and organised a great trip. Abisko is a wonderful place!”

“A fabulous holiday in Abisco National Park, Sweden, out of the 4 nights we were able to see the Northern lights on 2 nights with the naked eye and on a 3rd night the camera caught images unseen by the eye. Mountain Lodge was a fantastic place to stay, yes, the rooms are simple, but they are clean, warm and the beds are comfortable, what more do you need. The food in the restaurant was exceptional, the chef and team are young but creating wonderful food. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, the outdoor winter clothing provided kept us comfortable and warm. The organised tours were excellent, and only small numbers, so you really felt like you were being well looked after.”

“I had a great trip to Sweden. The Weekend a la carte itinerary fitted so much into a short time. Only a couple of small glitches - I was booked into both the ice hotel restaurant and the homestead restaurant at the same time and my pick up to transfer to the abisko mountain lodge was delayed which left me waiting for nearly 3 hours after my snowmobiling activity ended. I absolutely loved the Abisko mountain lodge. Friendly, warm & welcoming with 5 star food in a fantastic location. Just as described by weekend a la carte. In retrospect, I wish I had stayed here for longer with less time at the ice hotel which in comparison lacked the warmth and service... more of an experience than a hotel and the ice hotel restaurant service and food was dreadful (and expensive!). I'd wanted to go for so long and sleep in an ice room though, that I had to try it. My activities... husky sledding, snowmobiling, Abisko park hike, sky station and aurora photography were all brilliant and I was lucky enough to see aurora on 3 out of 4 nights including the photography evening. All in all a fantastic, well run trip and will live on in my memories.”

“My wife and I shared a wonderful trip to Iceland all thanks to Weekend a La Carte - Aurora Nights. The package they arranged was well thought out without a regimental timeline. They organised 2 group trips for us. The first was a wonderful day trip through Thorsmork to see the landscape and waterfalls with a truly engaging guide. Unfortunately, due to the weather that weekend there was no Northern Lights trip despite multiple attempts. However, whilst disappointing, they, without question, gave us a full refund for that part of the trip. The rest of the trip was self-drive in a very safe and secure AWD SUV. Icelandair cancelled our return flight 2 weeks before the trip which meant an additional nights stay and' Weekend' paid for the extra night, again without any request from me. The communication from the time I booked the trip until departure was excellent - particularly helping us with all the latest Covid rules. I would absolutely use 'Weekend' again and I highly recommend them to anybody. First class.”

“Flexibility, support in booking during COVID exemplary. Mountain Lodge OUTSTANDING in all aspects, staff amazing, food amazing, activity organisation amazing Narvik- amazing location, food choice non existent but what we were given was acceptable Tromso- amazing in all aspects especially the guide singing in the cathedral ❤️”

“What a fantastic holiday! Weekend a la carte planned our activities, private transport , restaurant bookings and all arrangements to perfection so everything went smoothly. Our party of four people found them incredibly informative on everything we would need for the conditions before we set off. In short a great company to deal with. Our stay at the Abisko Mountain Lodge was excellent. A beautiful cosy and warm welcoming environment with fabulous staff. Activities included evening photo sessions for the Northern Lights, sledging with huskies, snowmobiling and a hiking morning in the National Park before moving to the Ice Hotel for our final night. All in all a totally memorable once in a lifetime bucket list experience ! Many many thanks to everyone inolved from Colin & Jean and Simon & Rose.”

“Well.....after 5 very enjoyable, adventurous (for us) days we are now home and on behalf of the 4 of us I am writing to say a huge thank you to you, your company and everyone involved in the organisation of our trip for all the invaluable help, advice and frequent updates re ongoing situations we received. We had a great time....sadly no Northern Lights for us though, nor snow, despite our best entreaties! The Icelandic people could not have been more friendly and we left yesterday feeling we had left part of our 'family' behind. Margaret (South Coast Adventures) was a superb chef, great to chat to and very reassuring when we realised our cabin was in direct line with E-15. She told us that we needn't panic if another eruption occurred, to stay calm, have a glass of wine and they would find us - her words, not ours!! Stefan, our guide for 2 days was another gem - his patience, understanding and imparted knowledge of the places we visited were sublime...he also drove us to the Hotel Ranga for our pre-booked meal so that we could enjoy a drink (or 2!) and arranged for Arsaell Hauksson (owner, South Coast Adventures) to collect us afterwards to take us back to the cabin....although I suspect Arsaell actually was the person arranging this! So kind of him and unexpected as we assumed we would be driving ourselves. Was another bonus that Arsaell arrived in a Tesla to drive us.....With many thanks again to Aurora Nights and South Coast Adventures Iceland.”

“We have just returned from the most amazing few days in Reykjavik. Everything had been arranged perfectly so we had some wonderful trips. Unfortunately one had to be cancelled due to weather conditions but this was handled well locally & we were kept updated. The accommodation was perfectly situated surrounded by plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops & sites of interest. We'd happily recommend Aurora Nights & will be booking a return trip later in the year.”

“We flew to Kiruna in the Swedish Arctic Circle for a wonderful and unforgettable Christmas stay. Weekend a la carte had recommended a super variety of activities - from visiting the Ice Hotel to a day's snow-mobiling in the national park (with a warming cup of soup half-way through) to fulfilling a lifetime dream of driving a husky team to cutting our own holes on the frozen ice lake to fish on Christmas Day - we didn't catch anything but who cared - the beautiful scenery, the toasty fire in the amazing hut on ski's which the guide took out to our fishing spot and the fun of having a go was more than enough! The Lodge was warm and welcoming and a total surprise was the quality of the food cooked by superstar young chef Magnus - worthy of any top London restaurant - we will be watching out for him on Masterchef! Thank you Weekend a la carte for a truly memorable and personal trip.”

“Thanks for the exceptional trip to Lapland. It made for a very special Christmas with the family. All of the activities were awesome - snow mobiles through the national park, dog sledding under the magical polar light, ice fishing on Christmas Day and northern lights photography session. And the Abisko Mountain lodge was perfect place to stay. Warm and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, amazing food and so close to all of the activities. You made it all so easy, including the provision of good quality arctic clothing that kept us warm. Thanks for all of your care and attention in making the trip truly memorable.”

“There is a problem with doing this trip through weekend a la carte. At the end of the trip you have to come back to reality! The team at weekend a la carte were very responsive and helpful. The trip itself struck a wonderful balance between relaxing and activities . The lodge was wonderful - the staff and the food being particular highlights. I have had experiences on the trip that will stay with me for the rest of my life -seeing the Northern lights, the dog sledging trip are the stuff of dreams. I shared the experience with my two best friends and have created memories that we will all treasure. Kevin please feel free To use the above on any social media etc. As stated the plan b for the sky station stood out Like a sore thumb for all the wrong reasons.”

“Our trip was fantastic, Abigail was on top if top of everything even with flights being moved. The information pack was excellent and everything was taken care of so we just turned up at the right time. Iceland was a great experience and beautiful country and one we hope to visit again and would recommend Weekend al a Carte to anyone thinking of booking a trip”

“Fantastic trip to Iceland. All the tours and arrangements were organised perfectly. We had to change hotel at short notice due to a covid outbreak, but Abigail sorted out the issue in no time and we were very pleased with the alternative. Icelandic weather prevented us from seeing the Northern Lights so we will just have to go back!”

“We had an amazing time. We have fulfilled one of our dreams at seeing the northern lights. Abigail was so helpful and went above and beyond when the airline changed our flights a couple of times. Abigail reorganised our trips and transport and a even an extra night in a hotel by the airport so we could still do all our trips. Super jeep were great and made our trip wonderful as we see the lights. Special Tours boat trip was great and the crew were so helpful and friendly. Our hotel Centrum was lovely and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend Aurora nights/ weekend a La Carte it fulfilled our dream”

“We originally booked this two years ago but due to Covis postponed it, but felt despite the issues, it was time to go, and we are pleased we did. Kevin and his team sorted everything for us and the advice on warm weather clothing was spot on. Although the Mountain Lodge provides outer clothing, we took our own layers. And we are glad we did, 5 layers on the top and 4 on the bottom and three on hands as well as a Balaklava, kept us warm. Travel arrangements went well. Each flight was delayed by about an hour but that was merely scheduling and staffing issue due to Covid etc. Every part of our holiday worked like clockwork. We loved every activity: trekking, Photographing the northern lights (we were VERY lucky!), husky sledging (friendly huskies), snowmobile driving, ice hotel. But oh, the food in the Mountain Lodge was out of this world. We are vegetarians and the staff arranged for special dishes to be prepared for us, and even a five-course vegetarian menu on new years eve. The veggie dishes on the menu were amazing. We had room 20 and it was warm (don't know how!) and very comfortable. Just a five-star fabulous holiday.”
