“The product is beautiful, but the ring is ultimately too big despite me providing my ring size. The purchase process was frustrating. The shipping process was awful.
I live in the USA and despite a USA location being advertised, it was unavailable for orders. I decided to go with the European location anyway. The payment was in euros, which was expected, but that ended up causing confusion with my bank so I had to call them and be on the line for half an hour to get the payment authorized.
When I took the ashes to the post office to send them off, I had to pay over $200 extra for customs fees and I wasn’t expecting that.
The ring sizes are named differently in Europe and AWA did not provide a conversion chart. I had to do some research. And despite me writing on the information I sent to them what my ring size was in USA sizes (a size that they DID advertise on their USA site), the ring arrived a 1/4 size bigger. So if I shake my hand, the ring will fall off and it feels slightly bulky on my hand. That’s very disheartening, because I wanted this ring to be something I could comfortably wear every day to keep my momma with me, even at work, but I won’t get to do that because it would too easily slip off.
I made my order on April 29th. It is August 3rd, and it JUST arrived. It sat unmoving for weeks at one location in Europe and several more weeks at one location in the USA. Their estimated turnaround time for international shipping says 3-4 weeks on their website, but it took almost 14 full weeks to deliver mine. And then it was supposed require a signature for delivery, but FedEx just left a $1600 ring containing my mothers ashes and precious metal and jewels at my door where anyone could have taken it, didn’t knock, and didn’t even mark it as delivered so I got no notification and I was at work all day. I know that AWA is not responsible for FedEx’s stuff or American customs so I certainly don’t blame them for that, but I share it in this review so they can see my experience and maybe consider using a different shipping service in the future.”
