I really enjoyed the Ultimate Oz experience. However one major issue occurred when we landed. One of the main reasons I booked this trip was so that when I landed there would be someone to meet me and not be left on my own in a strange city. You assured me there would be a shuttle waiting for me when I landed. However, there was no one. After asking another gentleman waiting for people if he knew what the gap 360 shuttle driver looked like he said he left after waiting for 5 minutes. We were a bit delayed at customs but only by about 15 minutes. In the end we were waiting 2 hours and they were closing part of the arrivals area. I even called the hostel to ask for them to come and get us but still no one came. In the end we paid $50 for a taxi. This is not acceptable as you assured me we would be greeted ans taken to the hostel. I would appreciate an explanation as soon as possible. Many thanks Hannah Augood

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you could not find the Sydney Shuttle representative when you arrived at Sydney Airport. As detailed on your airport transfer voucher which was sent to you before your travels, Gap 360 do not operate the shuttle service ourselves and customers need to go to the Meeting Point at the airport and look out for the Sydney Shuttle company representative in a yellow vest who would direct you to your shuttle bus. The service operates 24 hours a day and the buses were operating as scheduled. It is a shame you did not contact the Gap 360 24/7 support number at the time so that we could have assisted you immediately. As a gesture of goodwill we will be happy to refund you the cost of your taxi fare and a Trip Organiser will reach out to you via email to arrange this. We are pleased to hear you have enjoyed the first week of your Absolute Oz Jobs programme and we are sure you will enjoy the many adventures ahead of you in Australia!

I went on the 'South African Wild Adventure Trip' in August 2015 and although Gap360 themselves were very good and helpful, their sub contractors were not. Some of the staff at Kwa Madwala where we stayed for the majority of our trip were very rude and not very well organised. The drivers/guides were awesome but it was just the people in charge that were rude. We also got advised to exchange money ILLEGALLY for when we went to Mozambique which could have ended very badly. Gap360 suggest taking £200 spending money for the four weeks. However I and many others found we spent almost twice that. This is mainly because although we had been told that ALL meals apart from meals in Mozambique would be included, this was not true. We were expected to provide meals for ourselves most weekends and a few other random days. Also, we got some very strange and small meals when they were provided. 4 mini sausage rolls, yoghurt and honey was our lunch one day.. We also had a major water shortage that meant we were not able to shower - or had drinking water for four days. This was when the man who was meant to be looking after us chose to go away for the weekend. When one of the drivers realised he was very helpful and easily got us more drinking water and took us to another place in the reserve to have a shower. Saying all this, I still had a wicked time, just depends if you have the patience to deal with the lack of organisation.

I had a great time on the wild adventure however would recommend that additional days in Kruger should be included. I would also recommend some of the additional activities such as the panarama tour. wgule staying at bush however we were at time made to feel very uncomfortable and a nauses to the management. The management and bush house team we also heard often discussing members of the group and also moaning about members of the group to other group members, which I consider very unprofessional. On one occasion we were told that we did not deserve to eat! We were also referred too as children which as an adult is incredibly insaulting. We also received no bush safety talks and we did not get to choose activities in hazy view. Food was also not included at hazy view and we therefore had to purchase our own food. When I booked the trip your website said food was included everywhere except Mozambique. We also ended up paying a lot of money for food in Kruger as the food money allowance did not stretch very far. I would recommend that this is mentioned when discussing budgets with future customers as it was an additional cost. Mozambique was fantastic and the locations is amazing however I would suggest the time there should be extended as it is a very long journey. We were also told that we could exchange money before leaving SA and were taken to a car to swap money with a women. When arriving back from Mozambique there was a sign to say that this was illegal. However staff had recommended this and also not made us aware. The microlight was also incredibly disorganised with us completing the mirco light on the last two days. Some people including myself completed it just before leaving for the airport. I believe this was drive by the fact that there was not a pilot and guests in the main lodges were always prioritised. Overall the activities were great however the management were often unprofessional and therefore created negativity on the trip. Communication between bush house staff and guests was also awful with us spending a lot of time not knowing what was happening. I would consider doing this trip again however not on the same reserve.

Had amazing time out there, well worth it. I just found the planning rubbish. The last week on koh phangan was terrible. The hotel was in the middle of no where and for a "party" island, there wasn't much partying.

We are pleased to hear that on-the-whole you had an amazing time on the Thai Adventure programme. Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your time on Koh Phangan in week four. We always coincide our Thai Adventure start dates with either a Full Moon or a Black Moon party with the latter being a little less rawkus for those that wish to enjoy the other activities the island has to offer not only the party life. Although you chose to not go when one of the legendary monthly parties was on there's so many other cool activities you can do like sea kayaking, Thai cooking lessons, kite boarding, zip lining, Thai boxing, trekking, exploring waterfalls, snorkelling and boat trips out to the stunning national parks with its azure water and amazing islands. Our popular accommodation is not in the heart of the party district but we did indeed choose this due to its relaxing location with infinity pools etc so you can recoup after the hectic parties if that is what you decided to do on Koh Phangan. For the other activities it's great due to it's accessible central position on the island. Sorry if this highly rated and positively reviewed trip didn't tick all the boxes for you...

Quick review. Moving to another country on the other side of the world by yourself, where you don't know anyone, on a Holiday working visa is a big leap and can be absolutely terrifying for some. I had unbelievably cold feet the week before I left for the Ultimate Oz trip with gap 360. There was some controversy doing a working visa with travel companies as reading traveling forums explain you don't really need them. Regardless I wouldn't turn down going with gap 360 as they allowed me to take the leap and I know I wouldn't of made the leap without them. The ultimate oz first week tour was fantastic, the tour was great, lots of parties and drinks, and I made some really good friends. What I would suggest is to have a plan and strategy going however be flexible and allow your plans to change. There were other travelers who went with the flow, worked on a farm and got fantastic jobs. However there where other travelers who had spent all of their money and who had a 9 to 5 job and where just surviving in Sydney. If it's your first time traveling I would highly recommend volunteering abroad with an organisation. As volunteer organisations pay for your food and accommodation for your help. When you are on a working holiday visa you are just essentially working to pay for your food and accommodation, even though gap360 can help you partially you are on your own to find work. However that's the point, it gives you flexibility and you have to push yourself to make things work, you are independent. Overall Gap360 create a great tour, make new friends, great parties. However I would of loved an honest explanation how expensive this trip would be.

I traveled with Gap360 on the Thai adventure last year and had a absolutely amazing time which is what made me return with them this year on the South African wild adventure, however I was quite disappointed with this trip. The organisation overseas in South Africa was frankly terrible and we did not even do a lot of the things stated in the itinerary, for example you don't get to choose the activity you want in Sabie, it is chosen for you and we never had the chance to do the bridge swing which everyone in the group wanted to do and the only thing we did in Swaziland was go to the glass factory and go back to the reserve, we never actually saw the dam, bushman painting and the candle factory etc. With the microlight, the rangers left this to the very last minute to organise and I didn't get a chance to do it till week 4 and only ended up having a very short 10 minute flight. Also it took 12 hours to get to Mozambique (only should take 3 hours) because of the poor organisation of the reserve and forgetting visa money, having to go back etc. I really think you should have a few more days in Mozambique to make the traveling more worthwhile and a lot of people thought it would be better if the adventure week was moved to the 3rd week. I think the conditions of the stables are terrible and having never ridden a horse before, the trainer was very nasty to me about this. I would of enjoyed more visits to the community since I really enjoyed this, we only got to visit twice in the entire month, when I originally booked this trip a year ago, the itinerary stated we'd spend a week with the community and it would of been nice to of been informed as the itinerary changed over time. On a positive note, I met some fantastic people on this trip who will hopefully be friends for many years and where you actually stay on the game reserve is beautiful, the accommodation is lovely with comfortable beds and a powerful shower. The food is also really good too, very well fed and everyone had gained a few pounds by the end of the trip! Game drives were really fun, and going to Kruger National park was my favourite part of the trip. Overall I had a fun month, but I do believe improvements need to be made with this trip as well.
