“The first in a long line of incredible expansions for the Carcassonne base game. This particular expansion introduces Inn and Cathedrals to the mix. Each element comes with its own scoring rules and has a unique effect on how the game plays out. Once you've played the base game a few time, I highly recommend picking up all the expansions.”

“We've enjoyed this expansion (our first for Carcassonne). It makes city building much more challenging. An Inn on an incomplete road has reduced my score a few times!”

“If you have Carcassonne, then this expansion is considered one of the essential expansions. This is simply down to the fact that it adds a few simple elements to the game that improve upon the core game so much, that it is considered simply part of the game. This is honestly a must buy for the base game. This expansion introduces a larger meeple that count as double for area control adding an extra layer to your tactics. It adds a sixth player to the game. It adds scoring cards for easier score tracking to the game. And it adds many new tiles in new configurations that slot straight into the core game. Absolute must buy.”

“Fantastic expansion to Carcassonne! Extra meeples allow 6 players, and my wife loved the new pink meeples. The inns and cathedrals add an extra "push your luck" element, or allow you to sabotage the other players whilst risking handing them points. The large meeples also encourage more aggressive play, but don't necessitate it if you still want a nice easy afternoon gently building a landscape together. And the new tiles are a must have for fans of the base game, some crackers in there.”
