It’s a good game and the mechanics work well. I personally prefer it to Splendor (for anyone who is comparing) but do I really feel like a Spice Trader? Named cards would have given the game more context and made for a complete playing experience. It is good though. I’m looking forward to seeing how the trilogy comes together this summer with the release of the final game.

One of my favourite games. Had been put off with the price elsewhere and had bought splendor on spec instead. Splendor is good and my girls love it but I much prefer spice road and can't wait for my girls to try it

Quick and simple game played well with our mixed age group family and looks great on the table.

Fast paced card drafting, collect spices and complete caravans to score victory points. Works well at 2 players but best at 4 players. Very high production value in the box, metal coins and spice bowls included!

This is a really engaging card trading game in which you aim to fulfil contracts racing against the other players. As you are only able to take one action per turn (out of four) the game is quick with little downtime, but also really engages you in planning to get the right spices for the contracts. We've played this 2/3/4 and it's good at all counts, but seems best at 3/4. This is a great family game if you can get people involved (it sometimes takes a little working out to get the right cards to generate the right spices). Especially at this price it is also a bargain and we liked the production quality, theme and art style.
