“I play games with my kids and I think Gloomhaven would be a bit too much for them. This is a lot more accessible and still lots of fun. Very quick to set up too, with all the maps/boards being in a book. Really like the elegant, puzzle like, combat system.”

“Bought this game to play wife my wife and I could not be happier with my purchase. I've always been a fan of DnD, but lack the time commitments and associates to do that. This game is perfect as it is essentially playing DnD without the need for someone to be dungeon master. Start by picking a character from the 4 available. Each has their own skills and qualities that mean you will have to face each scenario differently depending on who you chose. We started with Hatchet and Red Guard, and they seem to be a good combination. Once they're picked you can work through the first 5 missions, which act as an outstanding set of tutorials to help you with all the mechanics. The first mission let's you get used to the concept of choosing and using your cards, but by the 5th you are dealing with loot, traps, status effects, elements, experience, items, side quests and more. The array of cards give you a great experience of choice, as you have so many possibilities for what to do each turn. I adore this game, and am hoping that after we're finished my wife will be open to the idea of buying the original!!”
