“I love the concept behind the Octopod system and the deployment clasp seems to be well constructed although it needs to be pressed down firmly to lock closed. Unfortunately attaching the bands to the deployment clasp is a real pain in the behind. There seem to be two issues. One, the pin spacing is so tight on outer pins that getting the band looped through is extremely difficult. Two, the effort to loop the band through is complicated because the elastic band is a bit thicker than just a plain nylon band. If you get the system with the idea of changing bands frequently, you are going to be in for a struggle. The best fix I can suggest is just to remove the outer pin on each side when looping the strap through and then reinstall the pin.”
