“Further to my earlier review (cut and pasted below), I've now ordered a good few bags of these cashew nuts. They are just not nice, taste of nothing and seem to have acquired a slight plastic taste from the plastic bag. I even got my sister to try them yesterday and she pulled a face at them and said the same, if she didn't know they were cashews nuts she would not have recognised them by the flavour and she loves cashews. They are cheaper than elsewhere but if they don't taste like cashews, then being cheaper makes no difference as I expect cashews to taste like cashews. I will order these from elsewhere in the future now as these are unpleasant.
"Not sure what was wrong with these as they didn't taste like cashews. Not sure if they are slightly stale or got tainted with something - they've almost got a hint of something synthetic (can't put my finger on it) but a slight weird taste to them that doesn't taste how they should and definitely don't have that lovely creamy nutty cashew taste. They are not inedible as such and I don't think they are rancid, they're just not exactly pleasant and just don't have that cashew taste, and normally I often find organic foods taste better. All I know is i mix up a jar of walnuts, almonds, brazil, pecans, cashews and snack on them all day and the cashews are the first to disappear out of my jar as they are so tasty, but these ones are like oh and I'm picking around them! Annoyingly I bought 2 x 500g bags as I get through a lot of these. I will try using them in vegan cooking and maybe make some nut butter to use them up. The price for these organic cashews i thought was reasonable and I'm really hoping this is just a one off and a bad batch. Will order again in a couple of weeks and if the next ones are great then fine, but if not I will order cashews elsewhere in the future."”
