“A good quality jacket that looks the part. Although described as a generous fit, I found it a tad tight when worn over a fleece. Walker and Hawkes very quickly exchanged the jacket for the next size up, which is perfect. Perfect service also from this company.
The outer cloth was very well waxed, not ready to be worn until hung in a warm room for a few days to allow the oils in the wax to dry out a bit. This isn't a criticism, just a thing to be aware of. Probably being well-proofed will be a good point going forward.
Also a few long ends of thread needed to be sewn in, particularly along the storm flap up the front. A minor point of quality control you might not find on an example from the much more expensive competitors. Only took 5 minutes with a needle to put completely right.
Overall, a good product backed up with first class service, and at a sensible price point. I have no hesitation in recommending any reader to buy from this company.”
“Fantastic coat. Looks sharp and is well made. Seems very durable and has been perfect for winter walks with the dogs. The only improvement I would suggest is to add a stitch to the sleeve liner about 1” above the cuff to keep it from blousing out of the sleeve.”
