The 2018 Standish The Relic Shiraz-Viognier, ah, where to begin with this audacious little number? It's like attending a masquerade ball where the dress code strictly says 'elegance', and this wine shows up wearing a tuxedo t-shirt - it's classy but knows how to party. First off, let's talk about its appearance. Pouring it into a glass, it's like watching the birth of a new star in a crystal-clear night sky – deep, mesmerizing, and a tad dramatic. It's got a color that could make a black hole jealous, rich and dark, like it's plotting to take over the world one sip at a time. On the nose, it's a veritable fruit fiesta. There's a blast of dark berries - think blackberries arm-wrestling blueberries with a cherry referee. Then there's a swirl of spices that's like a spice drawer in a Michelin-starred restaurant - a little bit of this, a dash of that, all seamlessly integrated. It's like the wine equivalent of a magician pulling an endless scarf out of a hat. And oh, the taste! It's like the wine has been doing push-ups in the bottle. Bold, powerful, but with a grace that's almost balletic. It's so well-balanced, you'd think it's been training for the wine Olympics. The dark fruits come through like they've been marinated in happiness, and there's a hint of floral notes, probably from the Viognier, doing a delicate dance in the background. It's like eating the most exquisite dark chocolate while sitting in a blooming rose garden. The finish? It lingers longer than your favorite song on a road trip. It's smooth, it's elegant, and it just keeps unfolding new layers, like an onion, but an onion that's been to finishing school and knows a thing or two about etiquette. In conclusion, the 2018 Standish The Relic Shiraz-Viognier is not just a wine; it's a statement. It's for those evenings when you want to turn dinner into a culinary concert. Pair it with a meal that's as bold and charismatic as the wine itself, or just enjoy it on its own and let it steal the show.

First of all, the name alone is enough to make you feel like you're about to embark on an Indiana Jones-style adventure. And when you take a look at the label, with its intricate design and mysterious symbols, you know you're in for a wild ride. But the real magic happens when you take your first sip. The Shiraz and Viognier blend is like a yin and yang of flavours, perfectly balanced and harmonious. The Shiraz brings bold, rich, and spicy flavours, while the Viognier adds a touch of floral and fruity notes that make you feel like you're frolicking through a meadow of flowers. The tannins are like a firm handshake that says "hello" and "goodbye" all at once, and the finish is like a warm hug from an old friend that you haven't seen in years. Overall, I would highly recommend Standish The Relic Shiraz Viognier 2018 to anyone who wants to add a little magic to their wine-drinking experience. It's like a genie in a bottle, granting your taste buds' every wish. So grab a glass, make a wish, and let the magic of Standish The Relic take you on a flavour-filled adventure

Absolutely fantastic ! It does not get much better when you compare price vs quality. Dan Standish is a genius. All his wines are amazing. The only problem is keeping them to age , as they will, because they drink so well when young.
