“I have a (very conscious!) bias against Pinot Noir after a fraught week in Beaune trying to secure un cafe at midday (‘c’est dejeuner monsieur!’). It’s with this context that I share that this is the best use of said grape that I have come across in a long time. Sweet, structured, very long and an absolute joy at about 14C. It got me thinking - estate grown, single vintage, family tended and produced with lots and lots of ageing potential. Push this wine through a soda-stream and compare with a supreme quality (and costly) vintage champagne. I (probably) won't do that but it does nicely describe the superb value this wine offers……”
