I use two of these refills in my Midori - one for work notes, one for personal notes. The paper behaves superbly with a fountain pen, is a gorgeous ivory colour, is thin enough to mean you can pack an absurd number of sheets into a very small space, and feels smooth as silk to the touch and to write on. I've got through six of them in the last 12 months, and I keep on buying them.

I am a long time fan of this and whenever I used to read reviews saying Tomoe River paper was the best in the world I would think there is no way it could be better than this paper. I have recently discovered that this IS Tomoe RIver paper. So I now say - believe the hype - this is the best paper in the world. An absolute dream for fountain pen users.

I now use these notebooks in my Midori and nothing else quite compares. I have used everything from a biro to a fine line 0.3 Micron pen without any issues. I bought 2 so I had a spare and will definitely be buying more. Excellent service from TJS.

Everything positive said about this paper is true. It also really highlights the shading effects you get with fountain pens. It does develop a slight crinkling with use as it reacts to the ink and your writing pressure so that it is a little like old onion skin air mail paper or perhaps' bible' paper. Best paper in the world for me and a sheer pleasure to write on. Would love to have it in other Midori formats.

I gather this is a close to buying Tomoe River paper as you can get without, well, buying Tomoe River Paper, and I was all ready to look down from my high horse and poo-poo it as over-hyped. It's not. It took a range of fountain pen inks, nib widths, and wetnesses (is that word?) without a hitch - some show-through yes, but zero bleed-through or feathering. Smooth, but not glassy. Off-white, but not yellowy. It's lovely. Buggerit.
