Hi Lesley,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.
I am very pleased to hear that the medication has worked well and has helped with the affected area.
Emollient consistency is on a scale from very thin lotions to very thick ointments. Ointments are the best for moisturisation but the oil content makes them cosmetically unacceptable for routine use.
It is therefore best to find a cream that works and feels best for you as the 'thickness' will relate to the oil content as a cream is just an emulsion of oil and water.
Thinner (aka more water) will not moisturise as well but runs over skin more easily and seeps into the skin more easily. This consistency also tends to feel nicer on the skin.
Thicker (aka more oil) moisturises very well but sits on the skin for longer and can be more cosmetically difficult to use.
Our support team have also contacted you directly to recommend suitable alternatives.
