I choose desloratadine because I feel that it gives me a better antihistamine effect than straight loratidine. Once upon a time, my doctor used to prescribe it for me, which is how I became aware of its effectiveness. For the record, I use it conjunction with fexofenadine 180mg, which my doctor does prescribe for me. I spoke to my ENT consultant a few years ago and she approved using the combination of the two antihistamines to more effectively manage my rhinitis. I can confirm that the combination does work. If I run out of one of the two antihistamines, I can tell that one on its own is not as effective. Also for the record, I do not find cetirizine to be effective. My GP had me trial the various antihistamines avaiable to me one upon a time, and I can confirm that cetirizine does not "do it" for me. This is just about me, of course. As they say, YMMV.

A little longer shelf life would be preferred but good service overall

Hi Royland, Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention; I am sorry to hear that you received treatment with a shorter than expected expiry date. In addition, I am sorry to hear that you did not receive a response to your correspondence; unfortunately, we do not appear to have received a recent email from you. We are keen to learn from this incident; I apologise that the expiry date was not highlighted at the time of purchase. As a regulated Pharmacy, we are required to do regular checks relating to the stock expiry dates; Any short-dated stock (with an expiry date of 3 months or less) is segregated and immediately disposed of. I can see that you took advantage of the discount when buying in multiples; with the treatment quantity purchased, we would expect you to be able to use the 3 boxes by the end of October 2021. Following your feedback, we have updated our website to display the October expiry date and we will now issue notification of the expiry date upon dispatch. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly if you have any further questions or concerns.

This is the only hay fever medicine which does not make me drowsy. I used to get on prescription as I have all year round rhinitis but GP now will not prescribe and thus was best site price wise
