I am pleased to hear that your symptoms are improving and, that you have been using this treatment for approximately 3 months.
This is a good indicator that the marks are subsiding as our skin cycle replenishes after 12 weeks.
Our skin is the body’s largest organ and consists of three layers: the epidermis, the dermis and the subcutaneous layer.
The outer layer of the skin is the epidermis which has the formation of new basal cells in the lowest layer. The overlying cells are continuously pushed further upwards, where they slowly dry out, and become keratinized, dry and flake.
These old skin cells are replaced by the new skin cells which have moved upwards towards the surface of the skin.
This process takes between up to 3 months and is known as a skin ‘cycle.'
