“This is my second pair of Sealkinz Hempton overshoes. The first one got damaged, with holes on both tips after only 1 year. Sealskinz replaced them free of charge. On my first pair, I noticed that they were very tight to put them on, although I ordered the right size (L with 43 EU size). It was a pain to put them on. Now I ordered XL and I think now they fit as they should. They are still new and I cannot judge how reliable they are, but I am very convinced that the reason for the damage was the small size. Especially as MTB shoes have a rough sole. For the Hempton over shoes I would give 5 stars, but with the size recommendation from Sealskinz, I only give 4. They are warm, look good and now they are easier to put on. If you buy this product, please order one size larger if you can. For people with shoes size 45 or larger, I would not recommend this product. I will revise my review in case they become damaged again, which I doubt.”

“Recommended size for size 12 (UK) shoes is XL. Largest that Sealskinz offer......They are far too small across the instep and impossible to pull over my cycling shoes. Looking back through other reviews this is a recuring theme for overshoes and gloves. Why do Sealskinz persist in producing goods that are not fir for purpose? Either they need to be bigger or the material more elastic. The general construction and materials used are very good and the whole product is let down by poor design and consequentially the sizing. Summary - Unless you can buy one (or even two) sizes bigger than recommended, do not buy this item.”
