These gloves are even good without the heating. I ordered XL but they are a struggle to get on and off due to the tight fit.

How is the finger and thumb length? Just Right, Fit Perfect
The Upwell glove is very well made, it feels and looks quality. It also warms well. However, it needs some re-engineering. For a glove designed for cold wleather, the cuff is too short and does not seal over a jacket, letting in cold and rain. A gauntlet style would be more effective, but the gauntlet version of this glove is not any longer and suffers from a similar lack of weather seal. Furthermore, the battery pack is in the same plane at the wrist as a sports watch. The combination of a watch and the battery pack creates uncomfortable pressure on the wrist and I could not use the glove. Unfortunately, I did not discover this until after I went for a ride and Sealskinz will not accept returns on gloves that have been worn. So I now have an expensive glove for shoveling snow, but not a glove for cold-weather cycling.

How is the finger and thumb length? Come up short, they nip my finger tips
Unfortunately I had to return them as they were too small and did not generate heat

Firstly the heating function of these gloves works well, gently warms the hands, which for me meant my fingers stayed warm too (doesn't feel like the heating element extends into the fingers) Unfortunately the cut of the gloves (finger and thumb length and overall width) isn't great. They're very tight around the hand and wrist despite my hands being well within the recommended size for an XL glove and my wrists are skinny. The fingers are really short meaning that when I cycle the end of all 4 fingers are jammed into the ends of the gloves, which is really uncomfortable after a few miles. As for the thumb length, this is far too long - I can pinch almost an inch at the end of the thumb when the web of my hand is pressed into the corresponding part of the glove. It's a real shame that the cut of the gloves is so far off for me. I acknowledge that some people may have short fingers, thin hands and really long thumbs, but I suspect they're not in the majority, so I'd recommend that Sealskinz revisit the dimensions of the glove and make them a bit more 'average'
