“Not unusually it's rained a lot on the moor recently and I've made good use of the new socks. All I can say is that my friend's feet were wet at the end of the last walk and mine weren't.”

“Already own a pair of Bircham waterproof socks which are excellent. Needed a second pair, bought these on offer and have been disappointed. They are extremely cold on the foot, you can feel your socks getting wet although your feet are dry upon removal. I’m now wearing them with an ordinary pair of socks inside for warmth. In all honesty apart from the fact that your feet stay dry, I wouldn’t recommend.”

Hello Lynne, Thank you for your review and feedback. We apologise for any confusion and disappointment caused. The Scoulton are our thinnest and lightest waterproof sock model (distinguished as our Waterproof Warm Weather Mid Length Sock with Hydrostop). These socks are designed for the warmer weather, allowing breathability in the heat. This does mean that they are not ideal for colder months. The Birchams that you had previously are an All Weather model. These are designed to be worn all year round, keeping your feet warm in the winter as well as not too hot in the summer. Adding an ordinary pair of socks underneath as a liner is a great idea for additional warmth. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
