Folded Space Root Insert Insert compatible with  Root® , and The Riverfolk®, The Underworld®, The Exiles & Partisans Deck®, The Vagabond Pack® and Resin Clearing Markers®. The design provides both efficient storage and improved game play. Many of the trays can be utilised during the game, and they greatly aid set-up and clear-away times. The insert is arranged in three layers. Note that this insert is designed, together with the rule books, to fill the base game box. The boards and player boards need to be stored separately in one of the expansion boxes.  Also note that the insert works with either a single wooden card stand, or with four stands. This product consists of a flat-pack of 4 Evacore sheets. The trays require assembly, which is quick and fun, using ordinary PVA glue. Detailed instructions are included in the package.

I don't like the Folded Space plastic foam material. I have other organizers made from laser-cut wood and I much prefer that; it's thinner and easier to work with. With the plastic foam laminate material, it was hard to poke some of the tabs through their matching holes without the plastic on the tab wanting to delaminate (the fits are very snug). I'm not keen on the visual appearance of the plastic layers when viewed edgeways. As the foam is much thicker than the wood used in similar products, it feels like a lot of wasted space in the box. When extracting the individual pieces for a given stage of assembly, I found it difficult to extract just those pieces without other random pieces also detaching. It reminded me of the Gary Larson cartoon "Woah, watch where that thing goes. We may need it later." I'm also not a fan of the lack of a bottom to the card holder. It's obviously intended to stay in the box, because you can't lift it out with the cards. In short, it's fine. It's an organizer and allows you to gather together all your artefacts in one box, but I'm not a fan of the material and will likely avoid it in future. I will definitely prefer organizers made from the laser-cut wood if an equivalent is available.
