Utovlan period delay tablets are used to delay the onset of periods by up to 17 days. Utovlan contains the active drug, norethisterone, which acts as an artificial version of the naturally occurring progesterone hormone.
Utovlan 5mg is taken three times daily, in the morning, midday and evening. You should begin Utovlan treatment starting three days prior to your period.
Utovlan is not a form of contraception, so precautions are still necessary. It is safe to use alongside the mini-pill, but is not safe to use alongside a combined contraceptive pill.
