Ah, the Earthborn Ecopro Silicate Masonry Paint … to be honest with you, when TEN x 5 litre drums arrived, I half-expected them to contain a small family of paint-loving otters … but NO it’s just paint, but ‘good’ paint. The kind of paint that looks at your crumbling masonry and whispers, “Let’s make you look like a freshly iced cake, shall we?” First off, the colour. It’s white. Not “just stepped out of a detergent advert” white, not “nervous vicar’s collar” white, but a proper, “I mean business” white. The sort of white that makes pigeons think twice before leaving their mark. Application? A dream. AND, as for the eco-friendly bit? … well, I’m not EXACTLY sure what ‘silicate’ is, but it sounds like something a wizard would sprinkle on his porridge, so I’m all for it. Now, 50 litres is a lot of paint. Enough to repaint your house, your neighbour’s house, and possibly a medium-sized boulder. BUT if you’re anything like me, you’ll end up painting things you never intended to, including THAT suspicious-looking garden gnome! In conclusion, this paint is brilliant. It sticks where it should, looks smashing and doesn’t smell like a chemical warfare experiment. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Would I also accidentally paint my cat if he stood still long enough? “No comment!”
